They aren't gold painted but interior spec is better than gold really.
Similar seats to the new Rock Ferry gold buses however there are also a few tables upstairs and one downstairs - very nice buses by all accounts!
To be honest I think the MMCs that are normal are nice anyway, seats are comfy, phone chargers handy so I have no complaints about them.
15473 and 15474 operated the X61 journeys today.
My friend saw 19054 on the X2 on Stanley Road today. A transfer from Rock Ferry?

I passed this about 1600ish in Rock Ferry with 'Private Hire' hire on the destination, possibly borrowed for the day? it was heading towards Rock Ferry depot.

I'm reliably informed by one of the X2 drivers that they will enter service next Monday, the 20th.
They seem to be having a "soft" launch into service with the X2 MMC's only five noted out of ten dutys today. Those seen were 15205/96/98/99, & 15302, with old hands 15239/44, 15466/68 & 70.
Could some be on temporary loan, for the day, to either Gilmoss or Chester, due to the Arriva strike, thus providing extra capacity?

Yes but the capacity would be just as usful on X2, the other five were two gold 125's and three old X2 dd's !
I spent two hours at lunchtime in Preston today and noted 15239 15295/96/99 15469/73 on the X2.
Other allocations were what you might expect except for 19041 on the 3 and 18364 on the 111, altough even those are probably regarded as normal!
