Fleetwood is presently an outstation of Preston.
Very interesting read.
How can once buzy little depot (under Ribble) like Fleetwood, become a waste of space (under Stagecoach).
Fleetwood will be closing.
Its fortunes mirror that of many smaller depots across the country - the work it supported is simply not there anymore. If people don't use buses, they make a loss and the service gets withdrawn.
Not sure if this is of any interest, but will go for it anyway...
All of the stands at Preston Bus Station have now reopened, after some of the large glass panels blew out on the City side in strong winds. But, even though Preston Bus services have moved back to their original stands, it appears the stagecoach services (4,4a,4c,40,41,59,109,109a,111,125,150,151) will be staying on the county (Ribble) side of the bus station with all other stagecoach departures.
So it's back to being quite busy on the old Ribble side of the bus station again.
I always thought the original stand allocation was good - Local (Preston Bus) services on one side and longer distance (generally Ribble)/National Express services on the other.
As reported in the Stagecoach Chester & Wirral thread, the on-loan Wrightbus StreetDeck integral 80028 (SL15 ZGP) has now arrived here for trials on route X2.
Currently on the 1427hrs Queen Square Liverpool duty, it will arrive at Preston Bus Station within the next hour (due 1632hrs to be exact for anyone who's interested).
Left liverpool 14.27 on 15470 caught up with 80028 at ainsdale and ran back to preston together.i got off at preston railway station just after 16.30,80028 pulled in behind.
