Belle Vue Iveco RE23CUV - Poynton by David Burrell, on Flickr
Both the 23 plate Iveco's lost Mayne branding upon transfer to Belle Vue and remain the allocated type for the 391/2. Two buses for two workings means that if one is off for maintenance or whatever, then something else has to substitute, as the Yutong T9 has been doing.

Belle Vue do have 2 x Solo SRs now (the 280 requires 1 of them). If tracking is to be believed, Mercedes Sprinter/EVM RX72 TTJ did a return working on the 391/392 on Saturday. (Is it fitted with destination displays - a photo on Flickr from June doesn't appear to show them?) So possibly the Yutong T9 won't be first choice backup.
According to their Twitter feed they got rid of the Fiat minibuses due to reliability issues.

The Yutong T9 appears to be the regular substitute for a minibus. It initially provided some cover on the 288, when that ran and now similarly covers on the 391/2, as it is doing again today.

They did try the Yutong on the 288 initially but switched the route to decker operation when they released a Fiat minibus. Even a Versa school bus was preferred backup one day.
They do have 2 small buses out-of-service at present, which limits their options, especially when that's half of the vehicles they have primarily for public services.
I'd suggest if anyone does want to ride/see the Yutong on the 391/2 and their able to, then do it ASAP, as it's not guaranteed to appear the next time a small bus needs servicing.
They have advertised the ex Goodwins Fiat minibuses for sale in the trade mags. One has a blown engine.

Which explains why they stopped using them on the 288, and given it was a short term contract, it probably didn't make sense to acquire a replacement specifically for that route.
Solo YJ16 DXK re-entered passenger service this morning, taking over from the Yutong that was deputising for one of the Ivecos.
If their tracking is to be believed neither Iveco was out today and only one Solo was out, meaning both Yutongs were out on the 391/392.
The Ivecos have now been released. Two 10.8m Enviros have arrived from Faresaver to replace them - YX60 EOR and PX12 COJ. There seems to a trend of the 391/392 getting new buses and then losing them!

I rode the 12 reg one yesterday. On a semi-unrelated note, my Daysaver had 1 Day Bee Anybus on it, even though these routes are not part of the Bee Network.
This of course meant I was able to say Yellow to a Bee Network bus ticket sooner than expected.
