Post about Northern rail here!
This morning in Lime st there was kaos on plattforms 2,3,4,5 with problems down the line and not just that on platform 3 there was 5 trains and on platform 5 there was 6 trains and with one carriage of the platform!

Why do they some times pile trains up when there are empty platforms?
At one time you could invariably say that the Preston / Blackpool trains would run from Platform 1 , with Wigan locals going from platform 2 and Services to Manchester Victoria on Platform 3 and manchester Airport services from Platform 4. This may have changed with operational requirements .

I am not sure of departure platforms for the Manchester Oxford Rd and Liverpool South Parkway services .
Northern Rail having trouble tonight with the heavy rain, which has resulted in flooding. Services from Manchester to Wigan/Preston are affected due to flooding in Atherton and Lostock, Rochdale to Halifax is affected due to flooding in Walsden and Todmorden and Blackburn to Preston is affected due to flooding in Pleasington. Some services are delayed will some have been replaced by bus services.

It does seem to be one of those nights not to be out on the road travelling be it in the car or on the train , the weather has taken its toll today , what weather , you would not think that it was the summer solstice yesterday , you would think it was october .
Was on the 4:47 Orrell to Victoria yesterday and we went Pem-Wallgate-Ince-Hindley and then waited at Hindley for 4 mins then next stop Crescent was weird going through Bolton at Speed.

Also passengers for Daisy Hill where being told to use First and Arriva buses. and passengers for Atherton the 582.
Flooding has occurred in the Calder Valley again .

A rail replacement bus service is in operation between Rochdale and Hebden Bridge , at this moment services between York and Blackpool North are still operating .
Due to flooding in the Atherton area , services between Hindley and Salford Crescent are presently suspended .
Due to flooding in the Gatley and Heald Green areas services between between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport are presently suspended .
Its a bit of a minefield to travel at the moment today , services have now been suspended between St Helens Central and Wigan North Western due to a landslip at Garswood.
