Racking my brain trying to remember, were 0093 and 0094 ex-Fareway Mercedes 0609s in the H-FLD or H-FLE ranges. Had a look on buslistsontheweb but nothing seems to jump out really expect for H561/2FLE but they do not seem correct.
Thank you for looking anyway - I'm sure we'll solve the mystery soon!

Fareway 94 H839GLD - transferred to Heysham Travel, then Arriva and ultimately Stagecoach

Given Fareway 1/2 became 0001/0002 could this be MTL 0094?
Having discussed this with CX06EBK, we've surmised it is very likely that H838GLD is 0093 and H839GLD is 0094, given they were Fareway 93/94 respectively.

Thanks for the hint B10B6514 to think about Fareway minibuses!

Just 5202, 5298 & 8005 to work out now!
No problem boss.

8005 sounds as if it was in the ancillary fleet series eg. in the 80s former Southport Corporation PD2/40 58 GFY58E was a driver driver trainer renumbered to 8058.

Could 5202 be former Cumberland AHH202T? Not sure if MTL bought this though.
Simiarly 5298 could be UPB298S or YYE298T but only speculating as they are short Nationals. Could be something numbered out of synch with its number plate too.
Forget my last comment about 5298 it was an ex-Ribble one. Thinking about it I'm sure it was a JCK-W one.
LFR863X is 5298 apparently, withdrawn 02/00 as well
I've added 5298 in but removed 5202 and 8005 as someone 'in the know' who I asked is pretty sure these never existed so we'll ignore them unless someone else can find an answer!

As ever, any errors noted or any more information you can add to it, please let me know!

Edit: SK15 GZG Thanks for 6203 & 6204, saw them just after uploading to modified it quickly!

Thank you for this list. I'm sure MTL had a more varied fleet than Arriva in Merseyside now.
I think that is the case with many operators but I guess too of note is that, compared to 20 years ago, the number of new bus types/manufacturers is far lower than it was.

Just to use one example, nowadays an Enviro200 is only available with the standard ADL body, but an equaivalent Dennis Dart SLF in 2000 was available with Plaxton Pointer 2, Alexander ALX200, Marshall Capital, East Lancs Spryte, Wright Crusader (I think production on Dart just about carried on until then?) and Caetano Nimbus (Caetano Compass/UVG Urbanstar production had just finished). Going back to step entrance Darts there were Northern Counties bodies too!
