Due to unit shortages 156414 and 156415 worked the 1M06 0926 Corby to Derby service today if not swapped these units then will work empty to Nottingham then the 1B41 1212 Nottingham to St Pancras!

170530 to 170535 will soon be / are in the process of arriving here. They have had their centre car removed formally being 170630 to 170635.

170515/530/531 have moved to EMR so far. 531 has recently been repainted too

At Derby Etches Park 153302 has been stripped and is bound for scrap. 153374 is expected to follow next.

Could the 153s be used just as unpowered centre coaches without cab equipment to guve extra capacity on 156s where trains are currently formed of 2 coaches to create hybrid 3 coach sets.

I know during one leaf fall season i saw a hybrid 158/156 , but these days there is so much difference between some 156's that they had there own sub class that makes it costly for 156/153/156 conversions .
I had heard a while back of the thought of them being reconnected back to Class 155 units similar to the ones for West Yorkshire (Metro) with the new cabs ends being plated over.

Despite the reduced service virtually every train to Liverpool is a 2-car today - and there should be spare Meridians too as all the planned atachments to St. Pancras are suspended.

The Liverpool to Nottingham part of the service to Norwich seems to be the part no one really wants , it seems to be resources heavy.
Previously the DfT had tried to palm Liverpool to Nottingham off to another operator which puts EMR in a sticky situation as they dont now to seem to have enough units.

170422-24 have arrived at EMR from Southern for service. They will be joined by 170421 when it is released from Selhurst.
