More info here
These must be in addition to the electric buses for routes 26 & 27. Hopefully these Lions will work on a Liverpool route such as the 79c or 82a. If so, they will do a roaring trade!
The hybrids will be numbered 4800-4850 and not 4693-4743
They will carry BT66 registrations. 4800 is BT66 MTE

Can anyone explain why these hybrids have BT (Birmingham) marques? Is this where the chassis are built?

As far as I know the main Volvo commercial dealership in the UK is in Birmingham which is why they carry Birmingham registration marks

Wonders why the 4800-4850 batch of Volvo B5LHs went as a mixture to there depots and not as a full batch like of 25 and 26.
Was there a dire need to do it the way they did do it ?

even more of a wonder why they skipped numbers in the fleet series, bit pointless really, should have been 4700-4750 really

There was a delay in the delivery of a few vehicles and to avoid delaying the launch date of Green Lane's hybrids without not having any spare vehicles available we were given 25 of the ones already delivered instead of 4825-4850. Ultimately however the fleet numbers don't matter one jot because they're double deckers and they've added much needed extra capacity to the 14 and 18 at long last
Hopefully they're not the last new deckers for Green Lane - I can think of another couple of routes that I believe have a solid case for double deck conversion
