i thought there was one near Jackson Street and one in Sutton?
First of all there is no guarantee that TPE will stay at Lea Green as the facilities are inadequate for their trains.
There may well have been a station in Sutton but that area was not on the line we are discussing. From photos that I have seen I do not remember one in the Jackson Street area.
I did mention in Post 9 that both Sutton Oak and Peasley Cross stations were on the line. As both stations closed in 1951 any service that was running between Shaw Street and the Junction was obviously non stop from that time.
What was the main user of the link after the closure of the passenger stations
Was for Freight, last being Hays Chemical that closed in 2004

I still think TPE should have called at St Helens Junction in the first place (hopefully the Scottish services will stop at St Helens Central in the future too) is it likely they’ll swap then also I’ve walked between Robins Lane and Clock Face (I’ve walked all the way to the retail park not realising that I could have been fined for it) the line to Junction looks like it diverged off,if you look carefully in the trees at the end Joseph Road you can see the remains of the fence and the ballast where the track was.
