On 05/08/15 The Green Party started a Campaign to Re-Open this Line, Their Petition has already attracted a number of people to sign it:

https://www.change.org/p/merseytravel-ne...s-junction

It is also part of their Rail plan for the St Helens area:

Since the Party have had luck on other projects within the town am going to keep an eye on this and see what happens
Surprisingly the points were never removed at St Helens Central.
Is this line even in Merseytravels 30 year plan?
Am led to understand that the Points are still there as part of the line is still officially open but the Factory that used Freight closed in 2004

Hays Chemicals
I need some information on this line if anyone is able to help

The Line passes Baxers Lane Morrisons, after that where does it go to get to the Junction?

Does the Extended Car Park at St Helens Junction get in the way?

What Train Stations existed on this line?

Is there a lot of unused Land alongside the line?

Have any bridges ect been knocked down?

Also a quick Question on the Carr Mill Station, Is that being built on the estate known as Chain Lane Estate?
On most points I'm not sure of but I do know that the line after Morrisons passes over Lancots Lane and Robins Lane but am unsure of it's path round Sutton Monastery.
Parts of the route are surprisingly clear on google earth.
;
Are those Dublin Bus artics in Ogden's Yard on google earth?

Yea they was there about 4 years ago
To answer some questions asked.

Morrisons was rebuilt on the site of the old Sutton Oak Shed.
The new car park at St Helens Junction occupies the old track bed.
There were stations at both Sutton Oak and Peasley Cross but both closed on 18th June 1951. These were on the Ditton to Shaw Street service.
As far as I am aware there were no stops between Shaw Street and the Junction. I actually trvelled along the line in the 1960s on a diverted Hull to Liverpool express DMU service with a reversal at Shaw Street.

So to reinstate the Line the Extended Car Park would need to go? If so i cant see that being much of an issue as its underused anyway now the Express stops at Lea Green.

i thought there was one near Jackson Street and one in Sutton?
