Hillsborough
At last the report is out that proves what the victims families have been saying for years which is that there was one almighty cover-up by the South Yorkshire Police, the Media (who were given lies to broadcast) and seemingly all-round incompetence on a breath-taking scale. It was good to see the Prime Minister publicly apologise in the Commons. It also seems that The Scum has come out with a grovelling apology as well. Of course, there is nothing that can bring back those who passed away, but hopefully this report will give some small comfort to those who lost loved ones on a spring day in April 1989. I can only hope that those victims families feel that their pain is slightly lessened knowing now what they suspected all along and that a little bit of justice has been done. They'll never be forgotten. You'll Never Walk Alone.

RE: Hillsborough
It has taken at least 20 years too long to reach this point.

Both the victims and all the fans at Hillsborough that day have been vindicated, however the fight for justice continues. 96 people don't just go out to a football game and die from an 'accident'.

RIP at last; you will never walk alone.

Mal you summed it up perfectly. The dignity of the families yesterday, and throughout the years was magnificent.

As a Liverpool follower for many years this is just to say a sincere 'Thank you' to all the Evertonians who showed their solidarity and support at Goodison last night. It was much appreciated and will have brought some comfort to those who lost friends and / or family members on that awful day. Thank you.

I'm with you there Mal, despite all the squabbles on the pitch and between the fans it's good to see that despite this we can still come together as one city.

Justice is finally here. Rest In Peace the 96, You'll Never Walk Alone.

RE: Hillsborough
Made extensive efforts to go the game on Monday night, but baulked at paying the £40 required for a ticket. Having watched it on Sky in a local pub, however, to be a part of that commemoration would have been something very special. Such an emotional and heart-felt moment, even via the wonders of digital television.

'Merseyside United' - it most certainly was.

RE: Hillsborough
Some serious efforts being made by both clubs to avoid any sick Hillsboro/Munich chanting at Sunday's match.

However, i fear some nomarks wanting their 30 seconds of 'fame' will spoil it though - with the sky tv cameras lapping it up instead making no mention and editing any chants out.
