Details have been released.

In bound stock before end of December 2019 includes 769s, 230s (for Bidston to Wrexham), 170s, more 153s and mk4s. Those will directly and indirectly replace all Pacers and the existing loco-hauled sets.

Post-2020 the 153s, 158s, 175s and 769s will be replaced by a combination of new build trains and more 170s and 230s.

Wrexham-Bidston will go half-hourly in 2021.
Heart of Wales and Cambrian will get 170s.
Cardiff to Holyhead will get the mk4s.
Service over Halton curve introduced this year, with direct services between Liverpool and both Llandudno and Cardiff to follow by 2022.
First Class to be introduced on some services.

Just a couple of points:

The Class 150/2s are due to be replaced as well. These are planned to go off lease at the end of 2023 and will be the last unit type in the current fleet to be replaced

The Cambrian Line will be getting new stock (CAF diesels) rather than Turbostars

I'm sure there was a mention of Cambrian Line getting 170s initially somewhere but I might have got mixed up. They'll need to do internal cascades so that the 170s, 230s and the additional 153s replace 2/3rds of the Pacers being used in the Cardiff area due to issues with 23m stock on Valley Lines.

So the 175s and 158s are staying, are they.
EDIT - just noticed post 1

RE: KeolisAmey Wales
Seems initially it's going to be 2 x D-Trains for Borderlands, 1 x D-Train for Chester-Crewe and 1 x D-Train for Conwy Valley, then Borderlands will get doubled frequency in 2021 so will require all the D-Trains (minus the spare ones.)

Is there any mention of what will operate the Chester-Crewe shuttle in the future?

Nothing confirmed as far as I can see. Logically either a 170 or one of the new CAF trains. The Stadler trains and tram-trains are all for South Wales and then apart from the D-Trains, the only other thing they'll have is the mk4 sets.

Just thought a 3 car D-Train might be an issue on Chester Race Days. ATW can use a doubled up 4 car 150 currently and it can get very full.

RE: KeolisAmey Wales
Thank you for these updates.

Now that we shall be able to ride a D-train from Bidston to Wrexham via Heswall, this may reduce my compulsion to ride a Bedford - Bletchley example.
