Was Runcorn depot having problems today (10 Feb.)?.
At least 2 successive departures on 110 from Widnes towards Warrington failed to appear at Green Oaks (11:44 & 12:04) Gave up my intended trip to Warrington just before 12:20

Happened yesterday on the 79c, there was also several 79c running in tandem. Although a different depot the 89 also did not turn up for over 1hr 20 minutes and when it did it wasn't picking people up leaving some people waiting in the cold for nearly 2 hours. It's completely ridiculous, no point in moaning to Arriva because you just get the same ear ake each time.

That was due to road works in prescot by fords and pretty tight running time which when your late its hard to get back on time.

Nothing of particular note but DK55 FXT has been painted with a interurban skirt but still retains the old livery overall.

Does anybody know how much difference Sapphire has made to the X1, in terms of reliability and passenger numbers? It was already a busy service, and most of the late runnings were due to traffic, which a fancy bus can't change

It's not changed really, anything past 3 o'clock is still always late and most workings are full loads the same as its always been.

I agree that buses do have greater capacity than cars, but always think that these kinds of figures try to paint an unreal picture.
I don't know exact figures or anything close, but you could probably say something like: based on average bus occupancy, each bus only keeps between 2 and 4 five-seater cars off the road.
