Aer Lingus - Gateacre - 21/05/2015 11:45

A new link between Liverpool and Dublin has been announced. Twice daily with third service on a couple of days. See: http://www.liverpoolairport.com/aer-lingus-commence-dublin-service-ljla-onward-connections/

In addition there are announcements of additional links to Manchester and several other destinations, included extended transAtlantic services. The Pre-clearance available at Dublin is attractive as it allows smooth passage into the USA.

Interesting news! However, without checking exact timetables, I'm guessing most inbound transatlantics will arrive in Dublin in the morning leaving an excruciatingly long layover before the connection to LPL.

RE: Aer Lingus - wirralbus - 26/05/2015 20:33

It now seems that the Irish Government has agreed to sell its 25% stake in Aer Lingus to IAG the present owners of British Airways .

I do now wonder how Michael O'Leary the Chief Executive of Ryanair which owns 29.8% of Aer Lingus takes to this news .

RE: Aer Lingus - SLTRegular - 26/05/2015 23:28

i hope the Iag sale doesn't impact on the cheap flights to usa it's the only real reason i'd consider aer lingus at the moment

RE: Aer Lingus - Metroline1511 - 11/07/2015 20:50

Ryanair have now climbed down and agreed to sell their stake in Aer Lingus to IAG. So, Competition Authorities permitting, the sale should be completed later this year.

Yes - but I think most of those routes are wet leases
