I don't know if it was S600 SLT for definite, just from what other people have said. There is a video on YouTube of (possibly an ex demonstrator) of a bus with what looks like Scania logos on the side with the engine revving out of control (failed oil seal in turbocharger). I have not seen this logo on any vehicles in the fleet, unless this is actually S200 SLT which I have never seen.

Are the engine's in N113's like this? https://flic.kr/p/964z41 I have seen these in Bury sometimes. These are CN94UA.

According to buslistsontheweb there were no other OmniLinks registered during that month, and only one OmniCity, which appears still to be registered under its original identity. So the likelihood of it having been transferred between vehicles seems minimal.

I haven't seen S600 SLT since the spring, but there's a photo of it on Flickr still in use in mid July.

S600 SLT and S400 SLT seem to like the 319 St. Helens - Ormskirk service at present. Both seen this week.

I also found the video you meant, it certainly looks like S600 SLT as it has that dragon or griffin or whatever it is graphic on the offside rear, fairly sure it isn't S200 (which was a Wright Solar). It was filmed in August 2012 and S600 has definitely been in use since then, so presumably the engine wasn't badly damaged, or else was replaced.

Are Trident's the same way round to N113's? Their radiator's are on the left and she sound of the engine seems to come from the right hand side when you're sat at the back.

Which way is the engine located in the Optare Scania double decker?

S600 SLT appeared to have running away engine. This happens if the oil seal on the intake side of the turbo fails and lets oil into the engine, it starts to run off the oil leaking through and can't be controlled (unless the air intake is completely blocked, the oil runs out or the engine explodes). This would've caused major damage but would've most likely destroyed the crankshaft/rod bearings causing them to cease and damage the crankshaft and connecting rod's.

It would've most likely had a new engine fitted as the original would've been too costly to repair.

That's out of my boundaries at the moment, it's a shame the 300 stopped running during weekdays, it was often busy especially during holidays.

Does anyone know what was involved here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-17045551 I presume it would have been the Volvo Olympian they had or either the red Scania or S222 SLT?

What doesn't seem to make sense is it says it was a fuel pipe that caught fire, but diesel doesn't burn like that.

It makes a change for SLT to use normal conventional registrations!

Noticed 33 on the Sunday 360 last week too, it's certainly getting about!

Heck if you spend a load of money on a new bus you use it as much as possible; probably more fuel economic than their other buses too
