10B confirms that Green Lane will be getting some deckers then.

I would expect this to be just the start of a staged investment in Green Lane, with the Myllenniums and Renowns needing to be replaced towards the end of 2015/start of 2016.

It is slightly disappointing that the full rumoured contingent of 28 for GL hasn't materialised at this stage, and I'd be keener to invest in deckers for the 14 and 15 services ahead of the 10B, but it's still absolutely excellent news to see north Liverpool routes finally benefiting from a large decker order. Can't wait to see them in service now.

Not forgetting as well it has been rumoured that Green Lane are to receive St Helens' Volvo B10BLEs in the New Year when their double deckers enter traffic - so it could be a big investment for Green Lane next year

It'll be interesting to see what route(s) the remaining deckers for Green Lane are deployed on. Personally I'd like to see them to be deployed on the 12/13 or the 14 - the latter would see Arriva have double deck allocations on every QBP route in Liverpool except the 53

It looks like a very interesting year for Arriva and I can't wait to see the new vehicles enter traffic - especially at Green Lane and St Helens

With Stagecoach operating deckers on the 2X/X2, Arriva should order a batch for the popular 47 route. The displaced Pulsars could then help to see off some of the ageing darts. Since the new 400's arrived on the 375/85, the spare bus has been a regular on the 47 and is certainly a benefit at peak times and South of Bootle.

To be honest though any route out of Bootle towards Liverpool should have enough spare capacity already , its not exactly a low density route .

Whilst the management at Arriva has got double deckers on the brain , it could be a good opportunity to obtain for that route , but is there the passengers though , forget about your concessionary passengers they will fill the first available bus no matter what.

It has been mentioned elsewhere (Rail UK Forums) that the Pulsars used on the 47 are to be refurbished to MAX standards with £9,000 to be spent on each bus. Clearly no deckers going onto this route any time soon, which is a disappointment.

Anyone know why is it winsford depot never seem to get anything brand new out of the box? Only recent arrivals we've had are the B7s to replace our DLAs.

2515/2516 arrived from runcorn, plus 2425 showed up & latest is 679. Apart from that our only "brand new" buses were the geminis & even though their only 3yrs old or so now they've been v problematic at times. Are winsford due any new vehicles anyone know, as some of our cadets are now getting long in the tooth?

Strikes me Winsford does get new single deck vehicles (Optares and Centros) - just generally not deckers.

Yep that's about the size of it, all our deckers are castoffs from elsewhere who've had new deckers. Think the centros were new to us on arrival but now their getting tired & our cadets are similar as most are 2004 plate (54 reg) so getting bit long in tooth these days.

Fair point, must be the only depot without pulsars apart from speke who have had plenty of new
deckers which they do need,i would have thought the 84 needs new deckers but are down the pecking
order after more busier routes elsewhere
