I agree that operation out of both Gilmoss and Preston is the best way forward for this service, with possibly an outstation in Southport?

15468 is another refreshed 2X2 Scania devoid of branding.

So the 2009 fleet are approaching 5 years old and are clearly being refreshed. It will be interesting to see whether the debranding is due to a fleet upgrade for the route or whether they will continue to be used on the 2X2. Either way they have been a good reliable bus for that route, with modifications to enhance their long distance use over the years. When you think of the mileage they cover they were and remain a good investment.

I wouldn't really call what is being done to the Scania Enviro400s a proper refresh. The 58 plated example was on the X2 today and it's just been repainted. No interior work at all.

The Scanias are reasonably good riders and have very comfortable seats, but their seats are well faded now from their heavy use. The Gold upgrade can't come soon enough for me.

Trident 19038 SN56AWH was noted in Liverpool on the X2 yesterday.

Probably going to be a regular occurrence as 15466-15474 are popping over to Coach and Bus World in Blackburn for exterior refreshments. The odd 12 plate Scania will also be prevalent.

Travelled on 15823 on the X2 in Liverpool today.

I noted a 2X2 branded Enviro400 on the A59 at Rice lane today (around 0915), is this the usual route taken to get to Liverpool since ive never seen one here before.

15823 (PX12EFD) is the X2's spare bus, so commonly works this route when one or more of the regular Scanias is unavailable. The other allocations were all coach-seated Scania/Enviro400s today, with only PX09AWV unseen. This bus is already repainted, so it appears none of this fleet is currently undergoing a repaint.

No it doesn't take that route, so would have been running oos.
