May have been withdrawn about the same time as the 109 (St Helens - Rainhill Stoops) which was also quite odd at the time as it only ran Evenings and Sunday.

Yeah i vagueley remembered the 106, think it might have gone in the 2006 changes.

You could be right as I do recall some journeys being at the same time as the then newly introduced 35/35A before being withdrawn.

Does anyone know the route of Arriva's 447 from Saughall Massie?

RE: Route History - 313201 - 20/11/2020 20:17

Although I cannot remember the exact roads it followed, I am fairly sure it followed the route of the old 240 service from saughall massie to mill park.

Here's a link to a timetable for the service from 2003. Hope this helps

That's the first incarnation of the route, the 447 was later diverted to serve Grace Road & went direct from Ellesmere Port to Chester.

RE: Route History - MTL0201 - 22/11/2020 06:08

447 was the old Merseybus 42, which at the time was Overchurch Road-New Ferry which started/terminated at the roundabout at the southern end of the New Chester Road/New Ferry By Pass, Arriva renumbered it to 447 & extended it to Chester.

The original route was Birkenhead Corporation 42/43 Overchurch Road-Brookhurst Avenue[near Eastham Rake Station], difference in the routes were 42 went via Bromborough Station, 43 va Plymyard Avenue.

In 1979 the PTE extended the 42 to Mill Park, & interworked the 42 with 41, 28 was extended to Mill Park as replacement for the 43.

1985, the 42 was extended from Overchurch Road to Woodside via Moreton replacing 21 & 22, because of a double run down Laird Street/Park Road North return journeys were numbered 43

Merseybus cut the 42 to Overchurch Road-New Ferry think when Crosville took over the Mill Park section,

Would anyone happen to know anything about the old 32A service running between Widnes and Liverpool please? Think it may have operated until about 2013 and was operated by Merseypride Travel under contract to Halton Borough Council

As far as I know, I think the service was commercial.
