I agree. It looks very smart indeed

Had a day out to Blackpool and after reading on the Fylde bus blog that 225 was the last Excel and in it's last few days of service, I was pleased to see it a few times during my visit yesterday, it was on the 7.

I don't believe it has been announced yet, but it's likely to be the spring.

I presume some of the Tridents as a guess.

More news on the new order.

There are, however, thirty of these in total; so unlikely they'd replace all of them with just 25 new buses.

The oldest 25 double-deckers are the eleven IoM Tridents (which are the equivalent of W-reg and X-reg), nine DAFs with L-prefixed registrations (which are really Y-reg equivalent), and four non-Myllennium-fronted 51-reg Tridents (338-341).

However, there's no guarantee they'll go purely on the basis of age; they might favour losing all the DAFs in one go, in order to increase type standardisation a year earlier than they might otherwise have done. Indeed, the opposite could also be true - I don't know how the reliability, running and maintenance costs of the two types compare, but they might favour keeping the DAFs at the expense of 02-reg Tridents. I guess we'll have to wait and see! (Though I doubt there's a scenario which doesn't involve losing at least some of the Manx Tridents.)
