Only if it worked the 392. The routes interwork at Stockport, so it would need to substituted, before doing a 391 which passes under the Grimshaw Lane, Bollington 11' bridge.

Exactly so it'd be a bit of a ballache to swap buses around on every trip.

Besides there's nowhere near enough passengers to fill a decker anyway.

I was referring to an emergency situation where the intended bus can't be used and a decker is available. Howards used a decker on the 27 Macclesfield-Knutsford on one occasion when the usual Enviro was unavailable but it doesn't mean the route warranted a decker, it was just what they had spare.

I cant see that happening in any situation as notwithstanding the low bridge on the 391, overhanging very low trees would probably preclude it anyway. As for the 27, that particular working was only two round trips and was driven very, very cautiously on the Chelford - Knutsford section to avoid damage by trees. Was a nice run on a decker though.

SK68LZO now has Fleetnames applied.

GHA also used deckers and coaches on the 27 more than one occasion when the deadline for inaccessible single decker buses had past with them operating the 27 commercially so not having a contract requiring a step free vehicle, unlike on routes like the 19, 42, 88 and 200. Although, unlike Howard's GHA didn't run every 27 service via Over Peover.

Couple of issues this week with the 391/392. Traffic has been a nightmare this week with timekeeping being quite tricky.

Also solo YJ12 GZH broke down on thursday with a slipping gearbox. Replaced by YJ12 GZG & eventually got into macc 43 mins late according to the ticketer machine.

They have really ended up with a shocking batch of Solos. The amount of lost time/journeys since they took over these tenders (including the 129) must be huge. Presumably the MMC Enviro200 has been acquired to try and resolve things in North Manchester but it sounds like things are just as bad Stockport end.

A lot of operators seem to have replaced old style Solos with newer Solo SRs, do the old style Solos in general have a shorter life than some operators would like?

When GHA were around the former Cheshire County Council 52 and 54 reg Solos weren't that reliable and the one they acquired which used to be used by Tomlinson Travel was in such a bad state I don't think it ever got used by GHA.

Pass but the ones they've got.now are the small versions with a single leaf door.

They only take about 25 people tops which is a tight squeeze if anyone gets on with a shopping trolley or a pram as the door folds inwards where the cab is.
