Stagecoach must think that the services are now viable enough in this area .

Stagecoach do things logically , so there must be a reasoning , which we probably dont know about just yet.

December 2013. Less than 5 years ago.

Quote from Steven Knight Media Blog: "Information is emerging, unconfirmed by Stagecoach, that suggests the Long Sutton outstation along with the 505 service linking Spalding and King's Lynn as well as some services in the Wisbech area will be retained by Stagecoach and consolidated as an outstation to its Peterborough operation."

Was that before or after GoAhead started buying up firms in East Anglia?

After. It does look like they are done with the services, at least according to this tweet they are:

If Stagecoach drop commercial routes then Lynx may register some replacement services. If they decide to divest, Tower Transit could be the successful purchaser. As Go-Ahead networks east of London are quite limited now, these could pass to Tower Transit too.
