RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - Y458 KNF - 17/04/2026 10:14 Is there a chance Arriva could invest in new vehicles for Runcorn since it’s not part of franchising. I hear the current METRO E200MMC's at Birkenhead are planned to go to Runcorn at franchising on Wirral...... RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - Y458 KNF - 08/06/2026 14:11 Will Runcorn require extra vehicles to cover the 329 & 360? RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - MTL0201 - 01/08/2026 10:38 I posted this on another forum but anyway, i'm not sure about Arriva's plans for interworking the 360 with the X30 when the 360 moves to Runcorn is a good idea. I was on the X30 yesterday [11.03 from Warrington to Chester] the M56 westbound was gridlocked with a lot of the traffic migrating to the A56 through Preston Brook as an alternative, making the A56 & surrounding roads gridlocked as well, then add in congestion on the Hoole Road, that the X30 i was on arrived at Chester 40 minutes late at 13.06 [should have arrived at 12.26]. The return from Chester [which should have departed 12.31] was about 40 late throughout too & arrived in Warrington at 14.37 instead of 13.59. It then struck me anytime the M56 goes belly up between Runcorn & the M53, traffic then migrates causing chaos to the A56 [& nearby roads] thus causes havoc with reliability to the X30, which will make things fun when the X30 interworks with the 360. RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - MTL0201 - 01/08/2026 13:44 I'm not so certain, i think there is a need for a direct Wigan-Warrington route rather than forcing passengers to change at Newton Le willows, the 360 takes 50 minutes so it's not that long a route, so those will go end to end, & it's far cheaper than the train which is £10.30 return even though the train takes just over 10 minutes. RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - M60lad - 02/08/2026 05:43 From what I can remember its not the first time that Runcorn would have operated 360 route, I'm pretty sure they operated it many years ago (maybe back in the late 90s early 00s) and I'm pretty certain back then it used to interwork at Warrington with 110. If I'm right it was in the brief period between when Haydock Depot closed before St Helens started operating the route. |
