RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 14/09/2025 16:17 Due to the road closure in Chorley D&G had been diverting 88 services back through Morley Green, between Wilmslow and Mobberley. They've now decided to instead divert via Great Warford and Alderley Edge until the closed road reopens. The change is sensible given it means an additional 5 normal stops will be served, rather than missed out. But why didn't they/Cheshire East think of that initially? RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 20/09/2025 16:25 It looks like D&G did a vehicle switch on the 87/88 workings earlier, so that a return Knutsford-Altrincham working was cancelled, in favour of retaining the last return 87 working - presumably due a vehicle fault with 122. I wondered why they didn't use the vehicle off the 89 to plug the gap, and then noticed the layover time on the 89 is now in Northwich, not Knutsford. That begs the question why don't they run the N1 on Saturdays? Surely only a few fares would pay for the cost of the diesel to get up to Greenbank and back. Even if they ran the N1 on Saturdays, there would still be a 35 minute meal break available for the driver, as the 89 doesn't run between 11:35 and 12:40. I suppose the answer is Cheshire West aren't paying them to do it, so they won't. RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 20/09/2025 17:04 On a separate point it must be strange at Wythenshawe Interchange today, with just the 130 operating to a 90 minute frequency, and all the other services affected by industrial action. I wonder how many locals even realise the 130 exists? |
