Former Blake's 7 and Eastenders star Michael Keating has died at the age of 79. The English actor was beloved by sci-fi fans due to his role as Villa Restal in the cult BBC series.
David Hockney has died at the age of 88. The British artist is one of the most influential of the modern era and was one of the leaders of the 1960s pop art movement.
Watford legend and former Wales international Kenny Jackett has died at the age of 64. Watford-born Jackett made 428 appearances for his hometown side during a one-club playing career that also saw him win 31 caps. Forced to retire at the age of 28, following persistent knee injuries, he began a long coaching career which included spells in charge at Watford, Swansea City, Millwall, Wolves, Rotherham, Portsmouth and Leyton Orient.
Investigative journalist Roger Cook, the reporter credited with having invented the doorstep interview technique, has died aged 83.
The alt-pop US musician and internet personality Oliver Tree was among six people who died when the helicopter he was travelling in collided with another in Brazil. The 32-year-old had been on a world tour when the crash occurred over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. One of the helicopters then fell onto the car park of a dealership, setting around 20 vehicles ablaze.
Roy Hattersley, who served as deputy leader of the Labour Party under Neil Kinnock, has died at the age of 93. The Sheffield-born politician entered Parliament in 1964 as the MP for Birmingham Sparkbrook, a post he held for more than three decades. He served as a cabinet minister under James Callaghan in the 1970s as secretary of state for prices and consumer protection and later became the party's deputy leader in opposition for nine years following its historic defeat to Margaret Thatcher's Conservatives in 1983.
Daveigh Chase, the horror actress who crawled out of a TV in The Ring and voiced Lilo in Disney's animated Lilo & Stitch, has died aged 35. Chase, who also voiced Chihiro in the English version of Spirited Away and starred in the cable drama Big Love, died from sepsis after suffering from meningitis.
Joy Beverley, one third of the vocal harmony group the Beverley Sisters, has died at the age of 91. She died on Monday after suffering a stroke last week
