Four people, a woman and three children have died after a fire broke out at a house in Bootle.
Emergency services were called to a property on Stone Square at around 3.45am yesterday morning (21/09) after reports that a house was "well alight". Six fire engines attended, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entering the property to tackle the blaze. Firefighters discovered four casualties in an upstairs bedroom with no signs of life. North West Ambulance Service had two members of their HART team committed to the incident and confirmed the four casualties found by the firefighters deceased.
Another casualty who attempted to break numerous windows to free the occupants was beaten back by the flames and suffered serious burns.
RIP to the woman, and especially the three children who tragically lost their lives that night.
