Past fleet updates

Updated 12 December 2014 - The DAF DB250s are in the process of being replaced by eight Volvo B7TLs from Southport depot. Five of these are at Winsford with 4100 and 4102 to follow after repainting and 4104 receiving a replacement engine at Southport. This has allowed the DB250 fleet to be whittled down to just 4030 and 4143 which are very much on borrowed time.

Updated 06 October 2014 - Two new arrivals at Winsford comprise Solo 679, which has replaced the now withdrawn MPD 867, and Cadet 2425 from Birkenhead. Two further withdrawals include DAF DB250s 4042 and 4141.

Updated 11 August 2014 - Following service reductions at Wythenshawe, Solo SR 700 has joined its brethren at Winsford. Further departures from the Winsford fleet include now withdrawn DAF DB250 3615 and MPD 866 which has seen further use in Wales.

Updated 10 May 2014 - With continued reliability problems with the Volvo B7TLs and a shortage of DAF DB250s, two Pulsars were briefly used here on loan from Bolton depot. These buses, 2686 and 2996, have since passed to St Helens bodyshop for refurbishment to Sapphire standards. MPD 876 has moved to Chester.

Updated 18 March 2014 - Further changes have been made to the double decker fleet, with 4026, 4027, 4031 plus Volvo B7TLs 4215 and 4216 all arriving to replace 4012, 4061, 4078, 4074 and 4099. Dart 868 has moved to Wrexham.
The long-term replacements for the DLA stock will be eight Volvo B7TLs with ALX400 bodywork from Southport depot, once a new batch of double deckers arrive at the latter.
