Past fleet updates

Updated 12 December 2014 - Renowns 2719 and 2720 have arrived from Green Lane as direct replacements for withdrawn ALX200s 2264 and 2266. The full complement of Volvo B7TLs has now left Southport, with 4100 and 4107 having been temporarily retained to cover a shortfall. All eight of these buses have passed to Winsford.

Updated 14 October 2014 - It is the end of an era as the last MTL purchased bus has been withdrawn in the form of 7654. Following the entry to service of the new Enviro400s, the eight ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TLs have left for repaint at St Helens workshop. Thereafter, they will transfer for further use at Winsford.

Updated 06 October 2014 - Marshall Dart 7636 has been withdrawn, giving 7654 the honour of the last MTL bus still in service with Arriva North West. Nine Alexander Dennis Enviro400 buses have arrived and will enter service on 11/10/14, replacing the Volvo B7TLs on the 375/385 routes.

Updated 23 September 2014 - Three Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Geminis have arrived from Speke in the form of 4210/12/13 to replace the DAF DB250/Alexander ALX400 fleet. The school duties requirement has dropped to three per day from five, hence fewer replacements being sought. Of the DLAs, 4064 and 4083 continued in service as backup during the busy summer period, but have now left for Yorkshire. The fleet of Marshall Darts is now dwindling, with just 7636 and 7654 remaining. These are expected to be withdrawn once the 2014 Southport Flower Show is concluded, bringing the curtain down on the final ex-MTL buses within the Arriva North West fleet. Two Alexander ALX200 bodied Darts, 2264 and 2266, have joined the Southport fleet from Bootle as further Marshall replacements. An earlier arrival is Commander 2622 from Wythenshawe.

Updated 19 April 2014 - DAF DB250 4158 has departed Southport for open-top conversion and has been replaced with sister 4097. The five remaining Marshall Darts at Southport are expected to be withdrawn once the 47/48 route reduction takes place in June.

Updated 25 February 2014 - Darts 2241 and 2243 have arrived at Southport from Wythenshawe, replacing further Marshalls.
