Saturday 29/12/2001

• I hope you all had a good Christmas, and wish you all a Happy New Year!

• There are stacks of odd workings to note today, as over Christmas, especially Boxing Day many odd workings were noted!  On Christmas Day, I didn't see any Darts in service myself, and have not yet heard of any reports of them, but I did see CMT Volvo B10BLE 2066 X113 JFV working the 212 (Liverpool - Huyton), and it was also reported that 2069 was also on this route.  Over on the Wirral, John Cooper reports that at least 3 of the Christmas Day diagrams were worked by Ford Transit/Renault Master 10/12 seater Minibuses of Raddoneur, Wallasey.

• On Boxing Day, many more services operated, though not all by the usual operator or garage.  Arriva NW's Huyton and Green Lane garages did not open for Boxing Day, and the majority of the services normally operated by theses garages were operated by Speke. This resulted in some very odd workings, mainly of Marshall bodied Darts on odd routes, such as 7635 V635 DVU operating the 212 (Liverpool - Huyton), both 7645 V645 DVU and 7649 V649 DVU operating the 106 (Liverpool - Huyton), and 7646 V646 DVU was on Green Lanes 26/27 (Sheil Road Circular).  Norbus MPD T831 JNF was operating the 115 (Liverpool - Huyton), a service which is normally commercially operated as the 15, by Arriva Huyton.  One interesting point too about the route 212 is that it only ever operates 3 days a year, News Years Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, as Arriva withdrew there 212 in April 2000, and so it is now a Merseytravel Christmas route only!  Probably we will get similar workings on New Years Day, but the one I was hoping for was a Speke DAF/Myllennium or better still one of the ex Liverbus Volvo Olympians on the 212 (As this is an original Liverbus route), maybe I might get lucky on New Years Day!

• Next update will probably be on January 1st, and some more pictures, including my ones from over Christmas, when I get them developed, will be added not long after!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Saturday 22/12/2001

• This is the first Saturday update ever!  Just a quick update today to note that Glenvale Dart 7602 T602 JBA has now had a full repaint and has gained the name 'MEGAN' on its front bumper.  Also Avon Coaches have now sold its ELC Spryte Dart 054 R54 OCK, and so this is now in the Former Darts Fleetlist.

• On Christmas Day, I shall try to see which vehicles and operators are running services 10A (Liverpool - St Helens), and 212 (Liverpool - Huyton), as both of these service are running a free, hourly service from about midday on the 25th.  Probably both will be operated by Dart MPD's of either Supertravel or Norbus, but we shall wait and see!  I shall probably report my sightings, if any, on the Dennis Dart and Merseyside Buses Yahoo Groups on Christmas Day Evening.  Similarly it is worth looking out on Boxing Day and New Years Day, for the odd bus workings as most services will be Merseytravel operated, and therefore will be tendered any operator, but also a few services such as the 35, 79 & 86 are running commercially, but these may not be by the normal operators, as with the 35 (Liverpool - Halewood), if Arriva were operating it then it would use their number 75 and as the commercial operators that day will just be Arriva, Glenvale and CMT, so it is possible that either CMT of Glenvale may just operate this route!  We shall find out!!!

• Anyway, this really will be the last update before Christmas, so let me thank everyone who has helped with the site over the last year, and again, wish you all a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Tuesday 18/12/2001

• This will probably be the last update before Christmas, but there will be one shortly after with news of Christmas Day and Boxing Day services!

• Updated today are the fleetlists, with all known updates that needed to be done, including the first update in sixth months for the Former Darts Fleetlist!  Also added are some more of Dave Roots photos, 4 on the photo section and a different two on the main page.  The rest of these pics will now be added early next year, though considering I started Dennis Dart Photos in September, and of the original photos, not a single one has changed servers, it may take longer than I predict!

• Not too much news to report that I didn't get in yesterdays update, so it just really remains for me to wish all of you a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Monday 17/12/2001

• As I have now finally finished all of my Uni work, I now have much more time to update the website, and therefore I will update it well today and tomorrow!

• Some Dart news to report today is that the new overall white Supertravel Dart MPD, KV51 KZC, is today on the 173/4 (Belle Vale - Sefton Park / Penny Lane), in place of the more usual V26x BNV Smart Eco Darts!

• Also there are reports of some further new Dart MPD's in Merseyside, as Supertravel now also have KP51 SYA, and Norbus have KP51 KZH, both for St Helens services 137/138.

• Along with theses two fleetlists, both Citybus fleetlists (Dart and Modern) are updated, as there were some mistakes in the Dart fleetlist, and the Modern Fleetlist was missing!

• Also updated today is the Favourites page, with some further additions to my notes (Mainly what I don't like!), and also an addition of Al's Favourites!

• Hopefully all remaining photos, that have already been sent to me will go online tomorrow!

Monday 10/12/2001

• Thanks to everyone who answered the quiz - A new one may be added in the new year!  (The main page will return to Blue in the new year!)

Friday 07/12/2001

• Just a quick update again to note that another East Lancs Dart now at Arriva's Green Lane garage is 1258 N258 CKA, which was on the 14B on Tuesday evening.  Another extremely odd working noted this week was of Glenvale Dart 7601 T601 JBA, which was on the 361 (Kirkby - Aigburth) in place of the more usual Titan or Metrobus on Wednesday afternoon.

• More new Darts no with Supertravel are Euro 3 Plaxton Pointer Dart MPD's KP51 SXZ and KP51 SYC, which are for St Helens route 137/138, and are in unbranded Smart Eco livery. (i.e. Yellow allover, with White roof)  An interesting note about these new Darts that I discovered yesterday is that although they have only 4 cylinder engines, as apposed to the older 6 cylinder ones, they are a lot quieter than the older ones. When I alter the fleetlists next I will note which Darts do have theses new Euro 3 engines, and also which Plaxton Pointer bodies are built at Alexander's Falkirk Factory as all Pointers have been built there since about June!

• The next full update, including photos, will probably be a week Monday (17th), when I have finished all of my Uni coursework, but there will be a nice alteration on Monday, as the snow will be coming!.....

Tuesday 04/12/2001

• Only a short news update today as we are now nearing the end of term of term in Uni and so I have stacks of assignments ongoing now, so this may be the only update this week. (Though I may add some pics tomorrow).  To get in the festive spirit, I am also working on a cool Christmas page, with lots of nice JavaScript tricks to make the page look really good (Along with some virtual snow for good measure!)

• Dart news to report is that Arriva NW 1259 N259 CKA is now at Green Lane, ex Wythenshawe, due to an increased frequency on route 18A.  Thanks to Simon Ackers for this info from the Merseyside Buses Yahoo Group.

• Other news to report is that the new MPD operated by Supertravel does have the new Cummins ISBe 4 cylinder engine, as noted by Mike Bennett, as it sounds a bit like a Marshall Minibus which has an older less reliable version of the new engine!

• Also the answers to the quiz will be published next Monday, the 10th of December!!!

Wednesday 28/11/2001

• Apologies for making half of the news section Yellow, on Monday, it was due to a missing </font> command on my behalf! (That is spaced out, else your browser would include that as part of the code!)

• Many additional photographs have been added today, from a variety of photographers, those being Dave Root, Mike Bennett, 'Trixmax', 'AC' (Hong Kong), and myself!  Most of the existing photographs, and all new ones are now on the new server, and so are advert free, and I hop to get all of them moved onto the new server before Christmas!   There are quite a few fleetlist updates today also, with info provided by John Cooper and 'Trixmax'.

• Some interesting Dart news from Mike Bennett, is that apparently Citybus Dart MPD W991 XDM was involved in a serious accident recently at Woodside, after which it had to returned to Plaxton's for major repairs, prior to which is was 50/50 as to whether they would repair it at all!

• Not too much other news to report, apart from DavBassPlayer noting yesterday that our beloved Arriva NW 7675 V675 DVU seemed to sound as if it needed a little attention from the mechanics at Speke as it sounded a little too noisy, whilst operating on the 79!

• Next news update, hopefully with a large amount of news will be on Friday!

Monday 26/11/2001

• This site is now no longer available on the 20m, server, as when people visit , they will be given a page that will redirect them to the new advert free site.  The webring, dennisdart.every1.net e-mail screen and buzzez.com rating box are still on the 20m server, as well as this one as I haven't yet altered my registrations with them which requires that these are on the page that respectively they link from.

• This site did initially have to have messages for freewebz at the bottom of every page, but no longer does, as the files are actually stored at , and the dennisdart.co.uk address, which I own just links to them, but it also allows me to change the file store easily without changing the site address. The liquid2k.com not only appears to load faster than the freewebz or 20m addresses, but also uploading files seems quicker too, so it is better all round!

• Not really any Dart news to note, apart from the continuing replacement of Darts ny Marshall Minibuses on Supertravel's 202/204 (Alder Hey - Dingle), being broken on Friday, by Smart Eco Dart MPD V264 BNV.  Other Dart MPD news is that First Manchester's Easylink MPD's may soon be withdrawn, as a few weeks ago GMPTE suspended First Manchester's contract for the Easylink services due to poor performance by First Manchester, so currently the fate of these Darts in unknown.  Several other First Manchester Darts are now in 'Barbie 2'livery, so there fleetlist will be updated again this week, thanks to info from Tim Moss.  Another fleetlist to be updated later this week will be the Former Darts Fleet, as the SPD V899 BNB is now no longer operated by the company.  This along with the Arriva NW Darts that have ben sent to Cymru will be added to that later this week too!

• A very odd Modern Bus Working noted yesterday was of Arriva NW Ikarus Citibus bodied DAF SB220 6333 K133 TCP operating a private hire contact around South Liverpool, seen parked up along Springwood Avenue next to the playing fields during the afternoon.

Friday 23/11/2001

• Just a quick update today to inform you that Citybus are now the first operator of a '51' reg Dart on Merseyside, with Dart MPD, DE51 EWJ, which is in Citybus livery without logos.  This Dart may also be, the first Euro 3 Dart to operate here, which means is should have a 4 cylinder Cummins ISBe engine, which Dennis claims is quieter than the original 6 cylinder Cummins B-series engine.

• A full news update will be made on Monday, along with updates to the Arriva Midlands North and Cymru fleetlists, and adding more Barbie 2 livery notes to the First Manchester Fleetlist.

• If you aren't using the new URL, http://dennisdart.co.uk/, then click on the URL to use it as it is almost totally advert free, bar for a single text line at the bottom of each page!  As of Monday the 20m address will bring up a redirect page to redirect you manually to the new address!

Thursday 22/11/2001

• More pics added today are Glenvale 7605 T605 JBA, Norbus MPD T548 HNH and Supertravel Y185 KNB to the independents photos section. More photos are still to be added to many sections from Dave Root, AC, Trixmax and now Mike has also sent me some more A1A Travel photographs!  These will all be added before Christmas!

• An odd Dart working noted by me yesterday was of Supertravel MPD W365 ABD operating the 222/224 (City Centre Circular) which is hasn't done for around 4/5 months, since the Y-reg ALX200 Darts were delivered. I think this has occurred as a result of these newer Darts now being used on the St Helens area services 137/138.

• An odd modern bus working noted yesterday was the strange occurrence of about 3 DAF/Cadets appearing on Arriva's 81 (Bootle - Speke/Airport) at the same time, whilst on of the 81 branded DAF/Myllenniums was on the 79!

• As of Monday, this site will be transferring to another domain, which will be http://www.dennisdart.co.uk/, which unlike the http://www.dennisdart.com/ address, will NOT have an advert bar on the bottom, and in fact will be almost totally advert free, bar for a small single text line at the bottom of each page, for freewebz, but there will be NO pop-up adverts, which really were driving me crazy, and also that domain is actually owned me me, and registered in the sites name, so is the property of this site!  The .com address will continue to work with just the namezero ad in the bottom, but this and the other 20m accounts will just redirect to the .co.uk address! If all of the links and features do not work immediately please bear with me as there are a lot of files to transfer, but at least there are far less ads!!!

Monday 19/11/2001

• More photographs have been added to the site today in the MTL Photographs I page, and more will also be added to this page soon from Dave Root, and some other photos too will be added soon from 'Trixmax' and AC from Hong Kong!  The new pics hat are added to the main and photo page of the Norbus MPD and Glenvale 7605 will be added properly soon!

• Interesting Dart news to report is that as a result of Supertravel now operating the 137/138 in St Helens, routes 202/204 (Alder Hey - Dingle) are now operated almost entirely by Marshall Minibuses, this being quite odd as they barely ever operated the route prior to Supertravel adding these new routes.  Another odd Supertravel working seen at the weekend was of Smart liveried MPD V264 BNV operating the 222/224 (City Centre Circular) on Saturday in place of the more usual Alexander ALX200 bodied MPD.

• An interesting thing I noticed also on Saturday was the in Arriva DAF 2406 V406 ENC whilst operation on the 79 had in its side destination box '18 Manchester'!!!!!

Friday 16/11/2001

• Again there is not too much to report on Dart workings, but one modern bus working is of DAF DB250 3607 N607 DWY, finally entering service from Speke WITHOUT any 86 route branding, so expect to see it on other routes soon!

• Other Modern Bus workings are of another DAF DB250, 3610 N610 DWY, operating on the 79 (Liverpool - Netherley) on Monday with 86 route branding, and also noted on Monday was the VERY rare appearance of a Glenvale Volvo B6/Plaxton Pointer on the 361 (Kirkby - Aigburth), but alas, it was too far away for me to get its identity!!!  I am still waiting patiently for a Marshall Dart to appear on this route soon!

• The Modern Fleetlist were to be updated today, but I haven't had the time to get them together so this should be done for Monday, but I have added a new pic today in the Arriva photos section of 1180 and more pics will also be added on Monday!!!

Tuesday 13/11/2001

• The favourites page has now been added, and thanks to all who have helped me to compile it.  I have generally left entries as they were e-mailed to me, so they are not all in exactly the same format, but at least they relate to what you all really said!!!

• Also a new Guestbook is now added, hosted by Dreambook, which actually allows the site owner to alter the HTML of each page of the guestbook, so I have been able to make it look just like the rest of the site. The link to the old guestbook is still there, and some of the new pages need a little tweaking which will be done, as soon as possible.

• Not too much Dart or Modern Bus news to report, just that Supertravel have now taken on operation of routes 138/137 in St Helens, replacing the Arriva 37/38 and on Supertravel's first day at least X1 STM was operating the route.  Hopefully they will acquire some additional Darts, possibly new Euro 3 MPD's.

• There are quite a few bits of fleetlist news that have been sent to me, and hopefully I shall be able to get most of it online, possibly with some more photos by tomorrow!

Wednesday 07/11/2001

• Thanks to everyone who has visited this site this week, as being the first birthday week, the counter has been going into overload, as so far is has moved from at least 6600 - 6700!!!

• Another Dart now operating from Green Lame for the shortened Route 3 (Liverpool - West Derby Village) is 1139 H458 UGO.  This route has been shortened as Glenvale reminded the Office of Fair Trading that Arriva were banned from competing with Glenvale of any ex Gillmoss route, and as the section of the 3 between West Derby Village and Kirkby is still covered by the Glenvale 361, they were forced to shorten it, though I don't think Arriva would have minded too much as there don't seem to be too many services into Kirkby now anyway!  According to Arriva insider 'Trixmax', this should be the last of the Carlyle Darts to move to Green Lane!

• An odd Modern Bus working noted by me yesterday was of Arriva 2416 X416 AJA, operating the 79 (Liverpool - Netherley), with full Airlink 80/80A branding!  Another odd DAF/Cadet working was of YJ51 EKM on the Selwyns 500 (Airport Express), in overall white, seen by Dave Root!  Dave also noted that Arriva Neoplan 6408 L408 TKB, now appears to being restored for service at Green Lane, so expect to see it on the road soon.  This Neoplan will be quite unique too as having gone straight from Smart livery to Arriva without ever having been in MTL livery!!!

Monday 05/11/01 - The Merseyside Dennis Dart Website's 1st Birthday!

• Somehow, the site has made it a whole year!!!!! - Before the news, I must thank everyone who has helped make this site happen, that included absolutely everyone who has viewed the site, as yesterday evening the counter was on 6639, and as you have viewed it now, it must be higher, as without people viewing the site and subsequently providing me with info for corrections, updates and photographs etc, the site quite simply wouldn't be what it is today!

• Special thanks for the huge amount of help provided over the last year must go to, amongst others, Tim Moss, Dave Root, 'Trixmax', Simon Ackers, John Cooper, Barry McGuire, Andy Jackson and last, but by no means least DavBassPlayer, or as I call him 'Davey Boy!'  These names are just off the top of my head, but there are a lot more helpers out there than you might at first think!

• News today is of further Arriva NW Dennis Dart reallocations, as as well as 1120 L120 YVK being reallocated to Skelmersdale, which I mentioned last week on the 345, also now at Skelmersdale is Northern Counties bodied Dart 1125 L121 YVK and East Lancs EL2000 Darts 1252 N252 CKA and 1253 N253 CKA.  Thanks to Matt for noting this is the Guestbook.

• As a result the Arriva NW Dart fleetlist is updated today, and a photo of a scene at Paradise Street Bus Station showing Arriva Darts 1179 M179 YKA, 7668 V668 DVU & 7544 P544 MBU, shortly after Arriva's purchase of MTL, with the latter two Darts still in MTL livery!  This is added to the Arriva Photos Page, which can be accessed directly from HERE!

• Please remember that I am trying to collect all of the visitors of this sites thoughts on their favourite bus type(s), favourite operator(s) and favourite route(s) before next Friday, so as to have a collection of entries by the end of these by the end of this sites 1st birthday week.  You could also send in your favourite particular vehicle, livery, or least favourite of any of the above! - Please send your thoughts to or any of the other email addresses, or the Guestbook, before next Friday!

• Next update should be tomorrow, alas sadly there is no first birthday party for this site, but really I am amazed that the site has lasted anything like a year considering I only really set it up so as to play around with HTML as practice for out IT lessons in Uni - Well at least they can't say I didn't do the homework!

• Cheers Everyone!!! :-)

Thursday 01/11/2001

• A very short news update today, just to remind you that I am trying to collect all of the visitors of this sites thoughts on their favourite bus type(s), favourite operator(s) and favourite route(s) before next Friday, so as to have a collection of entries by the end of these by the end of this sites 1st birthday week.  You could also send in your favourite particular vehicle, livery, or least favourite of any of the above!  So far I only have one entry plus my own, so PLEASE send your thought into before next Friday!

• Not too many odd workings noted yesterday, but one was of Arriva Northern Counties bodied Dart 1120 L120 YVK operating on the Skelmersdale garage service, 345 (Liverpool - Skelmersdale).

• Please check out the revised FirstGroup Photos as I altered this quite a lot last night to make is a bit less pink, resulting in a nice background pic, but as 20m adds Ad's (Good Wording!), to every page, this page is on a totally different advert free server, with a longer URL, but no adds to get in the way of the nice blue/pink bar at the top!!!

Wednesday 31/10/2001

• Full update again today, with loads of photographs added in a revised photographs section, with a new filing system coming into use, along with updates to the Arriva NW and Arriva Cymru Dart fleetlists, and this news update!

• An odd working noted by me yesterday was of Supertravel W365 ABD unusually operating the 202/204 (Alder Hey - Dingle).  Also seen on the same route, yesterday, but operated by CMT was one of the ABC MetroRiders!  It now seems though that any Arriva NW Bootle route can use the new Plaxton Pointer 2 Darts that are allocated there as yesterday, at least one unbranded and one 53 branded Dart were on the 62 (Crosby - Penny Lane).  One route I am hoping to photograph with a Dart on it is Glenvale's 361 (Aigburth - Kirkby), especially if there was an identical Arriva Marshall Dart behind it, though for this to happen the only Dart that would work is 7601 T601 JBA and this is VERY unlikely to happen!

• Further details of the recently acquired Supertravel Darts are now known, including there former owners, and for the ones that are from Ireland, the former registration numbers. There will hopefully be added tomorrow, along with other updates to fleetlists.

• One interesting point to make too is that FirstGroup are going to drop all local fleetnames form there buses, officially as of the Monday the 5th of November, and so although the fleets will legally remain separate, and the legal lettering will still display the local name, there will be little else to tell which fleet a bus is from!  I will leave the titles on the fleetlists. alone, as this will at least make it clear where the fleet operates, and the fleets will still remain separate anyway.  If FirstGroup ever did try to number there whole UK fleet into one sequence I think the number of renumberings would be horrendous!

• Although the site is exactly one year old on Monday, there will probably be an update on Sunday to mark the start of the week first birthday week, which will be only the 2nd Sunday update ever!  Anyway there should be an update again tomorrow, with more news, fleetlist updates and photographs!

Tuesday 30/10/2001

• Sorry for the delay between updates, I just had a few assignments to do for Uni!  Anyway, with next week being this sites first birthday, and there being no big assignments for me in these two weeks, there should be quite a few more updates, including loads more photographs! For the first time ever today, neither of the photos on the main page are taken in Merseyside, as both are Manchester
vehicles!!!

• Not too many odd Dart workings to report, but Dave Root reports that Citybus Y489 PTU is still operating Southport route 105, whilst Norbus W936 JNF is also still running the streets of Southport on route 115.  An odd visitor to Southport recently was when Blue Bus K1 BLU provided a bit of Dart variety when it appeared on route 347.

• Also Arriva 1151 L151 SBG has not yet moved to Rhyl, and is still operating for Arriva NW out of Bootle garage for now.

• As next week is this sites first birthday, the 05/11/01 to be precise, according to 20m, though neither the Guestbook or news go back quite that far, as initially there was a different Guestbook, which I think lasted three days, and the news was initially, just added at the bottom of the main page for the first week. To see a replica of the original main page Click Here. This isn't quite the same as it was originally as I no longer have a copy of it, but it is quite similar!

• As it is the ned of the first year it would be nice we could produce a record of favourite bus type(s), favourite operator(s) and favourite route(s). Please feel free to send your answers in to or any of the other email addresses on the main page.  I will create a page with everyones responses (including my own) by next Friday, but please don't feel you have to say your favourite bus type is the Dennis Dart!!! (Though you can if you really do think it is!!!)  Anyway, although this is a short update, there will be more tomorrow, with more photographs, fleetlist updates and news!

Tuesday 23/10/2001

• Not much to report from the weekend, the most interesting Dart workings I have seem recently were noted yesterday, when Arriva 2209 X209 ANC, was seen traveling up Childwall Valley Road, headed for Fiveways (Part of route 79), which is very odd, as Huyton garage don't run any services around there!  Another similar odd working was of an unidentified Bootle Smart Dart traveling up Mill Lane towards Wavertree Clock Tower.  When seen, both Darts were out of service!!!

• Interesting Dart news is that apparently the ownership of Dennis, Plaxton & Alexander by TransBus International is now going to result of the dropping of the Plaxton and Alexander names in new bodies, and this will be replaced by the TransBus logo.  The Dennis name is to remain for now.  The Plaxton Pointer 2 and Alexander ALX200 bodies, both of which are currently built in the same factory, the former Alexander factory in Falkirk, Scotland, are due to be replaced in Spring 2002, by a new body, provisionally to be called the TransBus Enviro200.  This new body is a mix of the Plaxton and Alexander designs, mainly with a Plaxton designed front (Though quite different to the Pointer 2), with Alexander sides (Theses do resemble current Alexander designs with the large cantrail).  The numbering system will be as the current Alexander range, and so there will be a full length version as the Enviro300, and a Double Deck Enviro400.

• Due to time constraints, the Photographs and Fleetlists. will both be updated tomorrow, with Photographs from Dave Henderson, and an update to the Barbie 2 status of the First Manchester fleet!

Friday 19/10/2001

• Again only a brief news update today, with just a few reports of odd workings.

• A VERY odd working noted on Wednesday was the substitution of a CMT Northern Counties Dart/Optare Solo on the 100/200 (Dingle Circulars) by Optare MetroRider 6017 M77 ABC. This is especially odd as not only is this vehicle meant to be allocated to the ABC garage in Formby, but also it had full ABC branding etc on it still, but it had been fitted with a DINGLE destination blind, so I suppose this is a permanent move. The only other thing I could suggest would be that the ABC garage has been/is being closed, and all operations are out of Aintree, and so odd workings like this will now be more common!

• Also noted recently was Supertravel Marshall Minibus R114 VLX on the 173/174 (Belle Vale - Sefton Park / Penny Lane) in place of a Smart Eco MPD.

• Finally more photos will be added to this site next week, courtesy of Dave Henderson, and hopefully I shall also be able to change the photos on the main page too

Wednesday 17/10/2001

• Just a short news update today, with news that another Carlyle Dart now transferred at Arriva's Green Lane garage, is 1146 H469 UGO.  Thanks to Barry McGuire for this info.

• Other than that there is not much to add, but I am now working on getting the HTML on these pages tidier, as having used Netscape Composer to compile the pages for nearly a year, I have realised how much unnecessary code is inserted, which increases the file size and therefore the download time!!!  As a result I am slowly working through all of the pages deleting all of this useless info by hand, and shall now be editing the pages in this way soon too. I may also use Cascading Style Sheets on some pages, which were recommended to me for the photo pages by Dave Root!

• Now transferred from Arriva NW to Arriva Cymru are East Lancs bodied L151 SBG and Plaxton bodied L153 UKB - L156 UKB. There are now Arriva Cymru 3151 and 3153 - 3156. Also expected to move to Arriva Cymru are Arriva NW 1150 L150 SBG, and 1152 L152 SBG. One good thing, even if it does mean fewer Darts in Liverpool, is that at least Arriva NW are starting to get rid of the awful North Western Cityplus East Lancs EL2000 Darts, which in my view, have the worst legroom of any bus I have ever been on in my life, especially when compared to a Plaxton Dart of the same length with the same number of seats!!!

• Other Dart transfers are of Arriva 1144 H466 UGO from Warrington to Green Lane. A modern bus transfer is of Arriva NW Volvo B10B 6530 from Bootle to St Helens. This is I think to replace 6602, which was set on fire whilst in service, and subsequently withdrawn. One odd thing about the Volvo B10B's that have been transferred to St Helens recently is that the blinds they are fitted with have the route number and destination within the aperture for the destination. They appear to have at least this arrangement for running the 10 and 10A, which makes the drivers job easier as he only has to set the destination and not the route number, though the destination is a little squashed in as a result! I have seen them running on the 10A though with the blind set also, therefore the display appears to read [10A][10A ST HELENS]!!!

• Very odd and interesting news to report is that Arriva NW Carlyle bodied Dart, 1142 H463 UGO, is now operating out of Green Lane, on former Glenvale Transport route 3 (Liverpool - Kirkby).  This has occurred as Glenvale has withdrawn its route 3, so as to run route 361 (Kirkby - Aigburth), via the old route 3 from Kirkby to Old Swan, then via the route 61 between Old Swan and Aigburth, so really route number 361 is quite apt!!!  I expect that more of the Carlyle Dart will have been transferred to Green Lane to operate this service and these will be noted as soon as possible.  One thing Arriva should remember though (As they only sold Gillmoss 4 months ago), is that route 3 used to be operated with H44/30F Titans, as these Darts are only B28F, giving a seating reduction of 46!!!

• A quick correction from yesterday though, is that the West Midlands W122 DOP, is a Volvo B7TL, not a Trident, where as Lothian W122 DOP, is a Trident!  If you wonder why I am writing the same registration for two different buses, see yesterdays news.

• On the website front too, remember that there is also a mobile version of this website, so as it can be viewed on WAP or GPRS mobile phones, located at   This version of the site is now being updated more often, with news, and it also features a guestbook!

• Todays news update is quite short as I have an IT test today, and I need to revise a little (Though we do have two hours to do 1 simple question!), but the photos and fleetlist are updated also!

• As some of you may have now noticed, this site is now also allocated at http://www.dennisdart.com/ and http://dennisdart.com/ as well as the original 20m addresses.  Unfortunately these addresses have an extra advert bar as the bottom, but really aimed at attracting even more people to the web site.  The 20m address will still continue to operate as normal, as all the new addresses do is refer to the 20m pages, and so even have the same ad's at the top as well.  The reason for these extra addresses being used though is simply as they were free (So long as you can put up with the ad at the bottom!), but as most of you who visit the page know the URL, I would use the 20m URL as the fewer adverts, the better!!!  I will add an auto redirect to the new addresses soon, so as to get rid of the ads and go straight to the normal page!!!

• I had a good day out yesterday at the Wirral Bus & Tram Show, and was pleased that the two vehicles that I predicted would be there in my scroller text, LMS Trident PO51 UGF and First Manchester Scania Artic 2201 were there!!!  NO Darts there this year, the closest vehicle being Arriva NW DAF SB120CS, Wright Cadet, 2441 X441 HJA, one of only two route branded Laird Street Cadets, which was parked outside Taylor Street. One VERY interesting thing that I noticed about the LMS Trident is that in its side destination box there is a Pre 1986, Merseyside Transport Logo on the blind in MPTE green!  I think Merseytravel could find LMS a newer Merseytravel service blind that that one!!!  You will probably be able to see this on the pics that I took when I get them online in the next few weeks!

• Another interesting Trident there was Travel West Midlands 4122 W122 DOP, a registration which is also simultaneously carried by Lothian Trident 294.  This apparently has occurred as when they were being bodied at Plaxton, Wigan the chassis got mixed up, and so the wrong chassis, which were already allocated registrations were bodied to the specification of the wrong operator.  When delivered, the Lothian Trident was registered W294 PFS, and the TWM Trident W122 DOP, but when the error was noticed, the Lothian Trident was quickly reregistered W122 DOP, but TWM just haven't altered there one, even though is has just been repainted to fleet livery, from being in Airbus livery!!!  Question is, do the DVLA/DVLC know?

• As a result of spending most of Sunday in Birkenhead (At which I was very proud to hear two people talking about 'That Dennis Dart Website!'), the photographs update will now occur tomorrow!!!
