Cricket 2014
Now we are into a New Year time to make a new heading .

Oh what a see saw we have had at the end of 2013 start of 2014 , seems like England can not win for toffee now.

Eventually it seems that England have lost confidence in the present management of Andy Flowers and he has now stepped down from that position.

In the test matches it was a case of either playing too slow and then the scoreboard pressure came up or players just hit out and hope they miss the fielders , unfortunately for England they always seemed to find the fielders in the deep on another tour they would have missed the fielders and gone for four .

These players look so tired and now demoralised , who ever thought the idea to have back to back England v Australia series must be thinking that didnt work out at all . The Ashes series was supposed to be in 2015 but the ICC didnt want any cricket that would overshadow there prestigious ICC World 50 Over Cup.

It has been announced by the ECB that Kevin Pieterson's England career is formally over.

Paul Downton the new managing director of England cricket made the announcement "We have decided the time is right to look to the future and start to rebuild not only the team but also team ethic and philosophy"

RE: Cricket 2014
I think it's probably for the best. Pietersen simply cannot grind out an innings, something England desperately needed him to do throughout the Ashes. He's been a divisive force throughout his England career and a real overhaul of the team is needed now.

Of course, it would be completely unfair to make him a scapegoat for what was an atrocious tour in Australia. Sure, the Aussies played out of their skin and all the credit in the world to them for that, but England didn't half help their cause at times with callow batting and lacklustre bowling.

I do think that there should be another England Captain , Cook by making Pieterson a scapegoat has now put thimself very much in the spotlight now .

If he fails this summer against Sri Lanka and India then he will be well and trully dumped by the English Cricket Hierachy , but to be honest he needs to go now not then.

RE: Cricket 2014
I agree a new captain would be for the best given what happened. Cook would be better off concentrating on his batting and getting back to his best. Problem is, who on Earth replaces him? We're very short on candidates, and for me Broad is still much too immature to be a captain. Tricky one.
