RE: Great Western Railway
Heathrow Express services are to be operated by the GWR franchise going forward. The 332s are to be replaced by 'refurbished' 387/1s, with GWR also getting 19 x 769s to use on Thames Valley instead of 387s and Turbos (there aren't currently plans to electrify Marlow.) This will allow a greater number of Turbos to be cascaded west.

When is this planned to start?

GWR to take over this year but rolling stock to stay the same until the end of 2019. 769s expected so that 387s can be refurbished prior to being moved but 769s not mentioned in article due to deal not yet being officially signed off.

RE: Great Western Railway
158960/61 have been reduced to two car. I understand that more will be done leaving 7 three car sets 158950/51/55-58 plus 158798.
Some of the two car sets are known to be 158745/62/69.

All time rail mileage travelled 327264 miles

What will happen to the middle coaches removed from the 158s, will they be reused in other units where extra capacity is required.
