MPTE Open Top buses
Whilst at the MTT running day last week, I picked up a couple of the old MPTE Fleetbooks that I was missing. Having a look through the 1985 5th edition (green cover, Merseylink A531AAK cover photo), I came to the page listing the open top buses in the fleet, as well as PD2's 0651/3/4 & Atlanteans 1449/1524/1551/1612.....1494 GKA494M is also listed (listed as Pool for depot allocation). 1494 didn't end up being converted. Other open tops during PTE days were L677 677KD Metro-Cammell/ Atlantean , former Southport Corporation 51/3/4 CWM151/3/4C PD2/40 MCW and 57 GFY 58E similar. There were also some ex-Ribble Leyland Tigers CRN 990/2/3. Other ex-corpy Titans (proper Titans!) were also operated in PTE days but I cannot remember which. |
