GB Railfreight
RE: GB Railfreight
Top story on ITV Granada Reports today showed Drax and Peel Ports criticising the government for a lack of rail infrastructure in North. Trains like these were mentioned: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H2...1/advanced They were saying something along the lines of they feel they should be able to get between Liverpool Biomass Tml Gbf and Drax Aes (Gbrf) in 3.5 hours compared to 'up to 10.'

A video of the report will probably be put on http://www.itv.com/news/granada/ later. It will also be on ITV+1 in the Granada region at 7.

At Eastleigh 66726 has been released in the new variant of fleet livery, 66724 has taken it's place in the paint shop. This means that 66725 is now the last one standing in the old First 'Barbie' livery.

At Eastleigh 66724 has been released in the new version of GBRf livery, 66725 has taken it's place in the paint shop thus meaning the 'Barbie' livery is now extinct.

It's been back a week, but some suggestion that it had been left blocked in at Tuebrook while trains were being dealt with in Wapping sidings, although since they have to be, to run via Runcorn, I am not sure that Tuebrook was blocked.

RE: GB Railfreight
A new freight flow commenced sometime in October from Miles Platting (Collyhurst Sidings) to Roxby Gullet (Scunthorpe) operated by GBRf. As Collyhurst has no run round facilities the first trains to run used top and tail class 66/7, an expensive and wasteful use of an additional loco.
GBRf have now brought in 09009 to do the shunting requirements allowing the use of a single loco on the service.
