Looks like the website has remained the same with the legal information changed from Arriva Rail North to Northern Trains Ltd. Logo and Northern branding are to remain the same (obviously without the 'by Arriva' that sometimes appeared under the Northern logo.) |

Is this going to be another franchise with a common user livery ? I know Scotrail now has a common user livery , this allows the trains to all look the same and not in a hotch potch of liveries when franchises change . |

The idea was that the new Northern branding would remain in place for the next franchise following DfT & rail North putting a clause in the franchise agreement. This was the result of the mess created when Abellio & Serco tried to sell Arriva the old Northern logo (which they had registered as a trade mark), only for Arriva to tell them to get lost as they felt the old logo and livery represented low quality, which then meant Abellio & Serco had to pay to cover up/remove all their IP from stations and trains. |

Pity nobody thought to stop them putting Northern by Arriva on uniforms. . Seem to have gone skip stop mad, 12.16 Liverpool Mia non stop to Oxford Road and ridiculously announced at Warrington Central as cancelled due to defect which has now been rectified. |

A bit of an update from my observations on the new fleet. Have seen 195001 - 024 at Edge Hill or Lime Street,and think 195025 was at Edge Hill earlier This week,but could nor make out number Same applies to 331001 - 027 Cheers Rob Day Formerly 51537 |
