Bus Tracking Website
Bus Tracking Website
Not sure if this has been mentioned on here but there is a new website which shows tracking (with fleetnumber/reg) for many buses across the country, locally only Cumfybus is on (although the odd Peoplesbus on the 723 shows too)…...coverage seems to have tripled in the last month with new fleets/areas being added almost daily.....here's hoping that Stagecoach & Arriva in Merseyside eventually gets added....

Another interesting IT development. TfL has had this for decades and it's about time that this facility has been made available outside of the capital. I may be wrong but I think the former chancellor, George Osborne, was instrumental in this development. Within Merseyside, at least, Google provides real-time information for all operators but not fleet or reg numbers unlike iBus in London.

I've just logged on to this link. Most of the services running in the south-east of England are running between 4 and 12 minutes early. How is this allowed to happen? No wonder First are losing money.

Yes there does seem a lot of early running, guess hard to keep to time at night with the roads being quiet, also I think the tracker highlights the loss of rural buses, as very few if any can be seen everything seems to be in a few towns and cities in East Anglia.

Never the less an interesting development, but it lacks operations of many large independent fleets and also the GoAhead Groups East Anglian operations so still some way to go in its development.

But never the less very interesting and I can see how it could be useful for someone with a mobile phone waiting at a bus stop wondering were there bus has gone and also for enthusiasts to locate a particular bus in order for photography which I guess is a nice fringe benefit.

How on earth have Bay Travel managed to feature early on in this process????

From what I have seen, any bus with Ticketer tracking, is on this site. There are others which are on the system but I have found the main link between the buses appearing on here is Ticketer machines.

Presumably, when Arriva completes the installation of the Ticketer machines in all its vehicles they too will show up on this site.

Sorry, but there is no excuse for early running at any time of day. If an hourly service runs early it may as well not exist. The solution is simple: pull in at a timing point (which is usually a bus stop) until you are due to leave.
