RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 18/11/2018 10:07

Is there any update on whether D&G are to get a decker for the 82 or whether they'll continue to run a duplicate service on college days?

Apparantly D&G were busy tonight on their Knutsford-Altrincham services due to Arriva Trains Northern cancelling a few services tonight.

Train running last night

Knutsford to Altrincham
16:44 departed 4 minutes late
17:44 CANCELLED
18:44 departed 2 minutes late
19:44 CANCELLED

Altrincham to Knutsford
17:10 departed 5 minutes late
17:35 CANCELLED
18:10 departed 1 minute late
18:35 CANCELLED
19:10 departed 5 minutes late

In the to Altrincham direction those intending to travel on the 17:44 would have had to have been on the 17:35 bus from Knutsford (the last bus to Altrincham) and even then it only got to Altrincham around 15 minutes before the next train, so was it worth it, especially if you already had a ticket for the train? Unless some people got the bus to Wilmslow and then got a train from there to Stockport/Manchester? The 17:44 does usually pick up around 100 passengers at Knutsford so even if only 10% of switched to the 88 bus that would have made a huge difference on the bus loadings with D&G using 28/33 seater buses.

In the other direction I don't see why it would have resulted in any passengers using the 88 bus. The following train services would have beaten the 88 bus to Knutsford.

Incorrect. This journey is registered to operate at 0715 from Chester Monday to Friday.

I'm not disputing the registration. Apparently the office said it is due to depart at 07:20 though and is just a mistake (I was taking the mic as well be listing all the places which apparently have the wrong info).

RE: D&G Bus - knutstransport - 25/11/2018 12:45

You can usually tell when there's been an error on the registration as the times/route given by Traveline doesn't correspond with the published timetable. That happened with the 88A when D&G started running it.

In this instance the registration is correct and the journey is supposed to operate at 0715.

Yesterday I observed the 12:33 Northwich to Chester 82 service was packed going through Castle (the area between Northwich town centre and Greenbank), the 17:00 Northwich to Sandiway service was almost empty going through Castle.

Another vehicle swap has been done between Wincham and Crewe Depot's as parked up in Wincham Depot (Outstation) last night was an unbranded Optare Solo SR in place of one of the Enviro200s for the 82 service, so guessing the SR will be out and about on 82s today, not to sure how long for though.
