“Sadly over the weekend three of our brand new Nova 3 trains were vandalised in Scarborough and have had to come out of service to be repaired.
Our colleagues at the British Transport Police are currently investigating what has happened and while these Nova 3 trains are being repaired, some of our services may be run by three carriage class 185 trains and we’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

I was wondering why I didn’t see any when I was in Victoria yesterday

Does anyone know how many of the North TPE Manchester Airport services are currently operated by new trains and how many are still 185s?

RE: TransPennine Express - mikestone - 12/05/2020 19:49

06.26 Oxenholme-Lime St and 08.12 to Glasgow showing to run next week - timed cl.397, with the 08.12 gaining stops at St Helens Central (not originally planned), Lockerbie and Motherwell.
;
Basic TPE service becomes hourly to Newcastle, with Scarborough services all shown hauled and mostly a shuttle from York, and Manchester Airport to Redcar shown dmu - if that is the case would seem to not be making maximum use of 802s to allow social distancing.
;
No off-peak TPE at Lea Green.

68033 and 68034 "The Spares" are currently available for use whilst some of the main fleet have returned to DRS for mods.

Manchester Piccadilly crew aren’t type trained on the 802 which may be the reason why (Some turns would be taken over at Victoria).
ASDO has been switched on allowing the use of 6 car units

Surprised nothing here since May - did anyone listen in to the December GMCA meeting as I'd like to know what if anything was said about the Leeds-Manchester shuttle mentioned in the papers?

Interesting new timetables on TP from next week

;
Redcar and Scarborough served from Piccadilly, making intermediate calls either side of Huddersfield, with a Leeds-Hull shuttle, suggesting the 68s are finishing at least temporarily.

There’s 2 class 68’s in use.

The morning 0554 MCV-LIV-SCA and one in the evening for driver/conductor knowledge retention.

All ‘stopping’ Scarborough will be 6 carriage 185 which will give you the clue as to which two trips will be class 68.
