The accident involving 2724 & 2727 was in Haskayne village. Yesterday's was on Delph Lane caused, I am led to believe, by an oncoming vehicle cutting the corner on a bend.

The whole area seems to be a black spot. I was involved in a fatal RTC on Mairscough Lane near Church Farm whilst operating a 300 almost ten years ago.

The new route change to the 300 seems crazy, its not cutting the running time by much and seems to go all around the world to avoid shirdley hill, getting stuck in traffic on the main road too, nobody got on or off between the business park and by the Scarisbrick Arms when i was on it yesterday, previously it always dropped or picked up people in Haskayne, as for other motorists they treat those country roads like race tracks at times no wonder accidents happen there. it seems 2726 is beyond economic repair and also 2343 has a fatal engine fault so Southport will remain pretty short for now, the remaining marshalls and DLA`s will have to last a bit longer.

Does anyone know if Southport have retained their school contracts for the 2014-15 school year? I'm just wondering if the DLAs have been retained here ahead of replacements because they will become redundant once we reach the summer holidays.

To be honest, In my personal opinion these VLW's are nothing to write home about, they are better than the DLA's but other than that well they are really something I can't particularly enthuse about, some of them have iffy ride qualities and in all honesty the are just tarted up buses that have already had a hard life elsewhere.

Its probably another case of they have been pounded on London streets , think anything that comes out of London is exhausted to say the least. There only fit then for retirement in the provincial towns and cities.

What routes are these VLW's likely to be used on will it just be Schools are are they going on normal service work?
