RE: HTL Buses - buses7675 - 13/10/2012 15:11

HTL's fleet is largely small Optare Solos, with a few Dart MPDs, short Enviro200s and a selection of minibuses, this list is pretty much up to date - http://dartslf.com/fleetlists/htl-buses/

One a completely different note (not sure if we resolved this a few weeks back or not) the capacity of the Mercedes Sprinter/Koch is 13!

RE: HTL Buses - RSTurbo50 - 13/10/2012 16:41

Are they still running the Darts? Do they have any Marshall or Plaxton pointer darts?

RE: HTL Buses - buses7675 - 13/10/2012 17:37

They own one Marshall Dart still however it is currently VOR. They have 6 Dart MPD/Pointer 2s (one TransBus, five ADL, though they are all the same really!) while the Dart SLF/Alexander ALX200 is currently under repair!

I was at HTL's depot today getting some photos, which can be seen here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/buses7675/sets/72157631758903971/

RE: HTL Buses - CX54 DKD - 13/10/2012 18:17

If the ALX200 is to return to the road, I really do hope they give it some extensive work beforehand; it was atrocious to ride on!

RE: HTL Buses - buses7675 - 13/10/2012 18:37

Its had a new engine I believe as well as quite a lot of other work being done on it so it should be a nice bus when its it all sorted! Not sure what routes it is intended to go on but we'll find out in due course!

RE: HTL Buses - RSTurbo50 - 13/10/2012 19:16

Having driven a number of ALX200's I can't think.of an example that didn't rattle and shake...

i think that is more suited for the garston circulars as a lot of there routes are running through little estates.

It used to be used on the 288 (which interworks with a St Julies School Service), the 258, the Garston Circulars and the 883, Wouldnt say it's the best bus for the 258, But its certainly better then the tiny Optare Solos they use which are too small at times

RE: HTL Buses - St Helens Rider - 14/10/2012 09:45

There are quite a few Merseytravel service which require a vehicle bigger than the small Solos. I know the 137/138 seem to be bursting at the seams at times.

What fares do HTL offer? Do they offer different pricing or is it simply a flat rate for adults and children? Do they do weekly/day tickets etc?
