Cammell Laird - childwallblues - 22/10/2012 20:02 The Liverpool Echo reports that the keels were laid last week for the Western Ferries new builds Sound of Seil and Sound of Soay. Also in there is the Isle of Innisfree, Royal Daffodil and RFA Diligence (A132). RE: Cammell Laird - childwallblues - 07/02/2015 17:55 Cammell Laird have been awarded a contract by the Northern Ireland Government to build a new ferry. To operate between Strangford and Portaferry the new ferry will be able to carry 28 cars and 260 passengers, and will be delivered in August 2016. The ferry will replace the MV Strangford Ferry 186 tonnes which was built in 1969. Vessels in at the moment are RFA Wave Ruler, RFA Fort Austin, ST Daniel Adamson which is nearing its full restoration, ST Kerne, IOMSPCO Manannan Calmac Loch Portain and Mersey Spirit.
