Yourbus - tbone - 29/09/2012 22:21

7 door forward Wrightbus Streetlites have arrived here:

1301 MX62 GOA
1302 MX62 GXE
1303 MX62 GXK
1304 MX62GXY
1305 MX62 GXZ
1306 MX62 GWC
1307 MX62 GWZ

They are all in white with a Yourbus fleetname on the windscreen.

A number of second hand Mercedes Benz Citaros have now entered service, at both Heanor and Tuxford depots. They are:

3501 BU53 AWX
3502 BU53 AWW
3503 BU53 AWY
3504 BU53 AWZ
3505 BU53 AXA
3506 BU03 ZMY

Five wheel forward streetlites are also due.

The new arrivals mean that all darts in the fleet have been withdrawn, the only exception being 1010 which has been convereted to a driver trainer.

Yourbus are taking over the contract for the 59 between Ilkeston and Derby from Doyles as well as starting a new Y28 service, in competition with NCT.

Yet more investment by Yourbus! The company are to start a new route, in competition with NCT using a fleet of brand new Citaros.

One of these, BF62 JZG is currently being shown at an event in Bilborough as promotion. It doesn't appear to carry any route branding at this stage

Yourbus have repainted and branded door forward Streelite 1306 MX62 GWC for the 59 between Ilkeston and Derby, which they are taking over from K&H Doyles. Photos are availble on the Yourbus facebook page.

That looks very good, not something you hear me say very often about a Streetlite!

Couldn't agree more! I really don't like the wheel forward version (and look forward to seeing a yourbus branded one to see if I change my mind!) and I was on the fence with th DF version, but I think this looks really good (and a massive upgrade for the users of the route, Doyle's buses are very old in comparison!)

Yeah I'm the same with the WF version, the DF version looks a lot better.

RE: Yourbus - tbone - 28/11/2012 21:42

Yourbus have aquired former London Mercedes Benz Citaro BU53 AXO (A bendibus) to be used for spare parts for the rest of the Citaro fleet. The engine will be going into Citaro 3504.

RE: Yourbus - tbone - 28/12/2012 20:45

Yourbus have registered a new service called "citylink" to operate between Derby bus station and Nottingham Victoria bus station, limited stop and is thought to be in competition with Trent Barton's flagship Red Arrow route. It is thought that low floor Mercedes Citaros will be used.

RE: Yourbus - tbone - 17/02/2013 14:39

Citylink started today, as yet there is no mention of it on the yourbus website however it is running using 9 branded Mercedes Citaros.

There's a bit of conflict with regards to timings, the timetable advertised by Derbyshire County Council suggests a 40 minute journey time (compared to Trent Barton's 30) yet gocitylink.co.uk (very difficult to find unless you type the address in!) suggests either 30 or 35 depending on direction.

Trent Barton aren't going to easily concede with this route, there's lots of advertising at both Derby and Victoria bus stations and a new ticket has been introduced that allows travel across the entire trent barton network for £30 a week, which is same price that was being charged for the Red Arrow weekly ticket. These are currently on a BOGOF offer, essentially two weeks travel for £30 which is difficult to compete with! A lot of trent barton buses have this ticket advertised on them (like this) as well.
