I was the one who posted about 5007 being withdrawn

It had an electrical fire back in April and has sat in the depot since, I was then told the engine of 5007 was being put in 5013 which has recently suffered engine failure

5007 is also partly stripped down inside the depot so it's safe to say this is never returning.

Rest in absolutely nothing you sh*t bus

I find the Ecocity’s quite nice from a passenger perspective but it does seem like they have their fair share of reliability issues not helped by parts being a little harder to source I assume

Are their engines based on a petrol one with spark plugs? Southport's CNG Darts (6248-6251, later 2291-2294 S248-251UVR) were. I remember the roof mounted fuel tanks had to be constantly drained of water because of condensation. Do Runcorn's MANs suffer the same?

The Southport ones were converted to conventional diesel power after 4 or 5 years but retained their Allison World series gearboxes and differentials which were totally wrongly geared for a lower revving diesel engine. The conversion meant an "interesting" drive to put it politely. I digress.

The fact Runcorn's have lasted 10 years is a result but the MAN chassis is a more tried and tested formula than Southport 's bespoke Super Pointer Darts were.

No they're gas ran I'm pretty sure but yeah, they do have the roof tanks, unsure if they drain water but I dont think they do, at least I haven't heard anything about them doing so

Yes, the MAN E2876 engine has spark ignition.

5014 now off with Gearbox issues
3049 has returned to the road after an exhaust problem
5013 obviously off with engine failure, getting new engine fitted, donated by 5007

2646 has now been transferred here as a route learning vehicle from Southport

5013 noted as withdrawn after the engine swap cancellation + other issues
