A Few Sections of the "Better Bus Fund" Halton PDF:

"The bid will support four services - the X1, X1a, 62 and the Hive shuttle (13a).
The routes identified in this bid support access to existing employment areas and
will help to attract new jobs into the area.

The development of the X1a service will enable the residents of Widnes to
access jobs in Liverpool. The introduction of this route would support routes to
employment in nearby Halewood and Speke leading onto Liverpool and the
potential employment opportunities the Superport will bring, which is envisaged
to bring a combined 28,000 jobs and apprenticeships to the Liverpool City
Region over the next 20 years.
The proposed X1a will provide a half hourly service linking Widnes to key employment
sites in Liverpool. This route will provide a new link between Widnes and Liverpool
opening up job opportunities which have previously been difficult to access by public
transport. "

All of the above is mainly proposition and planned though.

I didn't see that article, so thanks for that - there's no mention of Arriva operating the X1A, though. Maybe this is something regarding Halton Transport...?

Commander CX06 BHZ (2588) was on the 79C today.

RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - T42 PVM - 18/07/2012 20:07

RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - MPTE1955 - 18/07/2012 20:10

The commander is probably just on loan for a few days.

We don't, or at least we didn't! Whats that all about? Confused

RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - V671 DVU - 18/07/2012 20:15

COULD be a possibility a Cadet broke down by Speke depot and instead of waiting for a bus to come from Runcorn, 2588 came out for a trip or two? (And before anyone says drivers aren't trained on them, Cadets and Commanders have very similar dashboard layouts.)

RE: Arriva North West - Runcorn Depot - K853 MTJ - 18/07/2012 20:20

If it's on the 79C then it wouldn't go near Speke depot mate. Plus its a situation I haven't previously come across with any other depot doing that.
Is it very unlikely to suggest we are sending our 09s to Speke in exchange for some Commanders?

Speke buses don't have the Runcorn routes on them unlike GL who have Bootles
