No chance, Redcar is the second newest depot in the operation after Belmont so why close that down? And in any case, Stockton depot has no more room for any more vehicles in its yard.

Full details of the Teesside January changes

More changes not mentioned are as follows:

The route changes to the 64a and 17b mean evening services 64b and 17c will operate as 64a and 17c instead. Retiming of the evening 64a means the current interworking of the 17c/64b will not carry on from January.
The 17a, like the 7/7a, will operate along the entire length of Stockton High Street rather than via the Riverside to turn round at Maxwells Corner.
The X6 will now have a few extra journeys into Middlesbrough before 9am. Two PM peak trips (1605 and 1705) will termiante at Sober Hall Avenue rather than contiuning to Kingsmead. The last trip from Middlesbrough (currently 1840 to Yarm, 1810 to Kingsmead) will be 1815 all the way to Kingsmead, as such no X6s will termiante at Yarm bar during the annual Festival.

PVR changes worked out so far are as followed:

17 group: 17a/17b will interwork using 5 buses, 17 is stand alone using 2 buses
15: Increase of 2 buses from PVR 11 to PVR 13
22: 4 buses, down from 6 (when interworking with the 71)
X6: Still PVR 3 as far as I can work out

64a will be operated by Redcar om an evening rather than Stockton.

Also, the 15 changes only requires 1 additional vehicle from my maths.

Has anyone tried spinning a Prestige at Argos? It looks do-able but I wouldn't want to be the one to try it - lol

We have yes. And it works plenty of room.

From what I can remember Redcar was purpose built for when Stockton gets the purchase order served. So Redcar eventually will be the main depot for Redcar/Loftus/Middlesbrough/Stockton services.

Again, if that is the idea, then whoever came up with it plainly wasn't thinking of the Stockton area routes (6, 7/7a, 15). Running those light from Redcar all the way to Stockton every day would be a serious problem plus having to run driver shuttles to both Stockton and Middlesbrough all the time would be a nightmare. More likely, once Stockton depot is served its purchase order, a new site will have been found for a replacement depot to serve the Stockton/Middlesbrough.

True, as I said though I'm not 100% if that is the reason but I'm sure my uncle informed me of this when Redcar depot was getting built at Dotmanstown

So, this 'rumour' is about 10 years old. Probably been knocked on the head given the increasing cost of even just running a bus out of service.
