Do you reckon that the same sort of buses used on current 'x' services in Newcastle will be used when the 56 becomes the x6 so the likes of geminis and Pulsars or will it be like the buses used in the current service so a marty mixed bag

The same allocation as now.

Now, regarding the new Pulsar, I find it surprising that it's apparently for Northumbria. I mean, in terms of vehicles requiring replacement, Northumbria has none (all low floor single deckers are DDA compatable) whereas Durham County, Teesside and Tees & District is full of Prestiges that are falling to bits.

Arriva Northumberland are getting more new Pulsars... this is new to me!

As reported on the previous page:

As I was saying, not exactly anything they can replace bar the DAF SB220s at Blyth which would then be thrown down to Teesside or Tees & District, which seems to be the SB220 dumping ground at the moment.

Yeah thats true, my page hadnt refreshed which is why I havent seen the conversation afterwards.

Hopefully, they will be some Pulsars for Teesside again this time round, more for the long distance work this time (5/5a, X1) plus enough spares to have back up becasue at the moment Stockton's allocation of 31 is streched to its limits (supposed to be 4 on the 9, 4 on the 29, 11 on the 15, 11 on 27/27a and 1 on the 5, usually only the branded ones on the 9 27/a and 29 while the 15 is fully Pulsar worked with 4 on the 5a and maybe 2 on the 5).

I agree, one hell of a journey, get it to Northumberland Park or Shiremoor then jump on the Metro!!

That could be a better idea!!!! A still don't understand why they've done this to the 56 it was a decent enough service
Interesting that the 'new' services seem to introduce extra express buses between Killingworth and Newcastle and Freeman Hospital and Newcastle.

Wonder if Stagecoach perceive this as a threat? Does anyone foresee new Stagecoach expresses to Cramlington?
