Darlington-based Prestige 4057 is the latest repainted into new standard livery. However, it is due to transfer to Redcar in the near future. Another of Blyth's MPDs repainted is 1773. (Photo @ North East And Regional Bus Photos)

7515 can be seen here at Haymarket on service X22.

Makes sense with the new store opening there soon, though I am surprised it wasn't one of Redcar/Whitby's MPDs rather than a Jesmond one (though it was originally a Stockton and then Redcar vehicle anyway).

Question here is, where does the extra vehicle needed to operate a 15 minutely 43 come from? The X1/X2 split the same day won't see the PVR of those routes change as you'll still need 9 (4 for the X2 and 5 for the X1). So, unless the 43 is profitable enough to justify the cost of an additional vehicle.

I see the increase in frequency as a preventative measure against competition. Most specifically, Scarlet Band who recently introduced the X49 to Brandon, if they are to expand in the Durham market the 43 would probably be their next step.

From what I've heard, Scarlet Band are planning to expand in Darlington, so either way, this 43 increase may be good for the passengers and may avoid a competitor striking there but the question remains does it justify it financially at the present moment in time? If passengers numbers increase as a result, fair enough it makes sense.
