From that Press release:

“The driver is now used on duties that do not require an enhanced DBS check and he has no direct unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable adults"

Children and Vulnerable Adults will show up on any Service so am not sure how they can get around that

Very poor standing from the company. After what he had done, cannot understand how he is still employed by the company. Doesnt give the best impressions of GHA..

Reinstating a 47 Holmes Chapel-Warrington service would be useful. That service finished up being withdrawn because the times of the service were useless which led to there never being more than 10 people on the bus. If the bus had run at useful times people would have used it more. If GHA ran the 47 bus it would provide connections to the 16/27/45/88/289 services which might attract more passengers with it being possible to use GHA day tickets on different services.

I agree 100%. Regardless of what rehabilitation the driver goes through he still poses a risk to the public.
It does seem strange that GHA have kept him on considering drivers that I've known of personally have lost their jobs for a hell of a lot less, and as Bolton Bus Basher has said what kind of driving role is he going to have where he's not working with the vunerable and Children.

I presumed it would be another role within the company that wasn't driving.

I'd ask that speculation is kept to a minimum if not completely avoided given the nature of the subject at hand and out of respect of all parties involved.

Probably best to move on from the subject now, thanks.

As reported in the MEN, the "gentleman" involved in the crash for cash scam at Finglands, is now working for another local company, despite also having being convicted of selling illegal substances. He is/was driving a school bus, which the company said was ok as the CRB check (or whatever it is called now) doesn't raise any threat to children.

Arh yes. Said local company that's just been given a load more TFGM tenders to run into the ground. And they call it progress Smile

With the forum taking a bit of a tangent. To bring the thread back to point. With GHA expanding in the Warrington region alongside previous gains in Cheshire East, with services already in Altrincham and near Stockport and the 130 on Sunday. Could GHA be looking at TFGM tenders (especially in the Altrincham area)???

In the former Vale Royal, Macclesfield and Congleton boroughs Arriva finished up as the main operator after Arriva/North Western acquired Stevensons, Starline and Novia Scotia.

This left a gap in the market as Arriva weren't interested in some of the less profitable routes allowing coach companies like Swans and Bakers to have a go at running bus routes and allowing D&G and GHA to enter the area. For instance, the 82 Chester to Northwich service was a service Arriva said was no longer viable so they weren't interested in renewing the contract which let GHA get it.

On the other hand in the Trafford borough there's 3 biggies who will look at bidding for TfGM contracts - Stagecoach, Arriva and First as well as smaller operators, so a much more competitive process.

I'm actually surprised Stagecoach don't seem to bid for any Cheshire East contracts. The 200 Wilmslow-Manchester Airport service fits perfectly in their operating area.

This would be great, provided 'Knutsford' featured prominently on the display when leaving Warrington -- most people around there probably have no idea where Holmes Chapel is but I'm sure quite a few would like to visit Knutsford.
It would be nice to give High Legh a proper bus service to Warrington again as well.
