GHA Coaches Wrote:From Monday 22nd February we will be introducing our new service 84 linking Chester to Crewe via Vicars Cross, Tarvin, Tarporley & Nantwich.

Buses will operate hourly during Monday to Saturday daytime and will compliment service 82 between Chester, Vicars Cross & Tarvin offering passengers up to 3 buses an hour.

You can download a copy of the timetable here.

As a special introductory offer there will be a maximum adult single fare of £1 between Crewe and Nantwich and remember unlike some other bus operators in the area our buses are fitted with smart enabled ticket machines so concessionary card holders can use their cards for free travel after 09:30 Monday to Friday and all day on at weekends!

Last sentence sounds like a dig at Routemaster and is a bit misleading as all local buses allow free travel after 09:30 Monday to Friday and all day on at weekends whether they have smart card readers or not.

Full new 82/84 timetable: http://www.ghacoaches.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/here..pdf Although a bit of an obvious rookie error on the layout which might make it impossible to use for some elderly passengers and those with learning disabilities.

Only MX58KZE I believe. Last time I saw KZF it was still in Connect 88 livery.

Shows the 18:20 and 18:50 ex Northwich services operate to Chester, but when you refer to the timetables on the SJD College website and Traveline North West, these services terminate at Tarvin High Street.

Yes C84. Although since GHA registered a 84 service the Routemaster website has said that new buses and a C82 from Northwich to Chester are both coming soon. Although, how soon is the question.

I personally think it's a shame they fit those Versas with wi-fi and leather seats as then they could have been used as back up buses for the premium routes (GHA Gold and maybe T3.) Currently they seem to use any tatty old bus when the usual ones are unavailable or if it's a fairly decent bus then it's probably too small e.g. a DeeBee Solo with leather seats.

Speaking of bus sizes I've heard reports of the 16:45 Knutsford to Macclesfield getting too many passengers and having to skip it's scheduled call at AstraZeneca due to not having any room for passengers who may want to board there. I think GHA really need to consider having 2 buses on the 27 route all day opposed to only having 1 bus on at peak times when the journey times are extended due to rush hour traffic.

1151 Optare MetroCity vehicle with its Warrington branding operating on the 130 today with a carrier bag covering its ticket machine.

Are they letting people on for free then?

Random anecdote: once I caught a service for the first time specifically to try out the route and get a ticket almost like a souvenir, but the ticket machine was broken so that didn't happen ... but at least I got the ride for free because of it!
EDIT: I should clarify, this anecdote does not relate to a GHA service.

The one still in Connect 88 livery MX58 KZF has been a regular working on route 436 Shrewsbury - Bridgnorth for quite some months now. Personal observation of the 436 has shown it to have settled down to be good with timings from the previous late running it suffered in the early days. The only let down is the lack of washing of buses on the service, some coated with two weeks of mud which lets GHA down in terms of presentation of their brand image and passengers views from inside, perhaps not helped by a lack of washing facilities at Shrewsbury.
