Actor Adan Canto, who was known for US TV shows like Designated Survivor and films including X-Men: Days of Future Past, has died at the age of 42. The Mexican star had suffered from appendiceal cancer.

Tony Clarkin, the founder of hard rock band Magnum, has died aged 77.

Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale, the station's first female presenter, who went on to become its longest-serving host, has died at the age of 83. She joined the station in 1970 and remained the only woman on the line-up for 12 years. She remained on air until late last year with Annie Nightingale Presents.

The US actor Bill Hayes, who starred in the soap opera Days of Our Lives for more than five decades, has died at the age of 98. He first portrayed the character of Doug Williams in 1970 and also met his wife, the actress Susan Seaforth Hayes, while filming the series. Last June, he celebrated his 98th birthday on the set of the American daytime soap surrounded by co-stars.

Labour MP Sir Tony Lloyd has died at the age of 73, he was one of the longest-serving MP's in recent years, having served as a Labour MP from 1983 until his death, he also served as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs under Tony Blair from 1997 until 1999, and was also the Chair of the Parliamentary Labour Party from 2006 to 2012.

Until recently, he was the interim mayor of Greater Manchester until the role passed to Andy Burnham in 2017, and had been serving as the MP for Rochdale from June 2017 until his death.

A woman who was run over and killed in Birmingham was the former Crossroads actress Charmian Abrahams, it has emerged. The 96-year-old was hit by a delivery van in Harborne on Monday. She was best known for playing Mavis Hooper in the ATV/Central drama, set in a fictional village near Birmingham.

Boney M founder Frank Farian has died at the age of 82.

He was also known for founding the Latin pop group 'No Mercy' and Milli Vanilli, an infamous German R&B music act in which they were later discovered that Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus did not sing any of the vocals on their records, thus resulting their Grammy award for 'Best New Artist' which was awarded in 1990 being revoked shortly afterwards.

A Place in the Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin has died at the age of 50, following a battle with terminal cancer.

Shortly after I posted this, Carl Weathers, who was best known for his role as Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky films, Predator (alongside Arnold Schwarznegger) and in Happy Gilmore has died aged 76.

Aston Barrett, the bassist of the legendary reggae band Bob Marley and the Wailers, has died at the age of 77.

Barry John who played rugby union for Wales and the British and Irish Lions during the 1960s and early 1970s has died at the age of 79.
He was probably the finest fly half ever to play for Wales and was nicknamed "The King". He played for Llanelli and in 1967 transferred to Cardiff to form a half back partnership with Gareth Edwards which became renowned all over World Rugby.
