Drivers returning to their old routes after a long gap - knutstransport - 26/08/2024 10:43

I recently heard that one of D&G's Macclesfield based drivers, transferred to Arriva from GHA around 10 years ago. He used to drive the 19 and 27 (Macclesfield to Knutsford) under GHA. As Arriva pulled out of Macclesfield, he transferred to D&G. Now D&G have transferred the 88 to Macclesfield, he's usually allocated some journeys on the 88 Macclesfield-Knutsford-Altrincham.

I was wondering how common is it for drivers to return to a route they used to drive after such a long gap? I know it's not uncommon for routes to transfer from one operator to another, and then back again a few years later, but as drivers move around and leave the industry as well, I'm not sure how common this is.
