After making some observations today several 16s where a no show, and by several I mean the ones that should have shown up. It would appear they are a bus down as nothing but both metrocitys has been used in the last 2 weeks. It's also worth noting that one metrocity has a broken front destination board and is using a printed 45 route number in the window.

Agreed and it seems the small operators who suffer from a temporary shortage of vehicles affecting their ability to operate all their services get their licences revoked, while the big ones get away with operating only 95% of their services for the same reason.

Small operators suffer due to being paid a lower wage than what you can get for working for the larger firms so then there struggling to pull in drivers and that is all down to bidding low on tenders etc which effects the whole company.

I'm not so sure.
Maynes had a large number of older 'experienced' drivers who had been there for years. Obviously on completion of the takeover in 2008 most transferred to Stagecoach Manchester but a lot left prefering the family feel of smaller local operators.
I don't think pay difference is a factor, with smaller operators the majority of work is contracted and can be lost so I would imagine job security is more of an issue.

The answer to your question is YES. Have you looked at the fixture list? We are massive Wire fans and feel that the cheap day rover is a pretty good idea.

It's a good concept but from scanning the fixture list it won't be entirely beneficial as there are a lot of games finishing at 21:30 a time when there are large parts of the town left without any service.

That's incorrect. No games on a Sunday are played this late. All Sunday home fixtures are a 3pm kick off with the game finishing at 4.35pm so passengers have ample time to get home.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday fixtures often have late kick offs but that's not a problem as buses run late on these days anyway.

Sorry, Lynx, we are in agreement with RSTurbo 50 on this point.
To change the subject slightly did either of you observe the GHA Bus on the 45 route yesterday?
At 11.50 a.m. a GHA bus left Warrington interchange (either this was the late 11.25 or an extra bus which had been put on the route). The bus was a creamy colour with green stripes and the word CONNEXIONS on the back and one side of the bus. The destination plate simply read GHA Coaches Ltd. and someone had inserted a small piece of paper in the front window of the bus which read "45". The Registration plate was N8 GHA. We witnessed the same bus leaving Northwich for Warrington at 1.30 p.m. which presumably was the 1.20 running late.
