Major story breaking today

Go Citybus as GoCornwall have won the entire tendered network for services in Cornwall, 130 buses worth of work from April for a period of 8 years, from both FirstGroup and Independents, FirstGroup will lose circa 50% of there work in Cornwall.

However as part compensation the Truro Park & Ride was not included in the net tenders and has been awarded in a separate contract to First Kernow also from April again for a period of 8 years.

In a third tender the entire schools network in Cornwall will be contracted out in a separate bid.

Roughly 75% of First Kernows network is commercial these days it has been said elsewhere and they are already looking at opportunities to commericalise parts of the tendered stuff so could be interesting times ahead. Plenty of comments are a lot of the work is also additional to what is already operated by tender, i.e. additional routes and increased frequencies.

Quite an influx of vehicles for this.....

Most of the First Kernow E200MMC's (44951-70) are transferring across as they are Cornwall Council owned, 16 of them I believe...
Former Go Ahead London Enviro200's SE221-231 have transferred, apparently to be numbered 2201-11, plus Enviro400, E54
Former Stagecoach 10199-205 (Enviro400's) have gone off lease and have been acquired by Plymouth Citybus, probably for Cornwall
A large amount of new E200MMC's are currently being delivered, actual amount isn't known but up to 70 has been mentioned, to be numbered in the 2000's and some new deckers supposed to be on their way, a figure of 30 E400City's has been mentioned.....

In a recent N&P there were numerous first cancellations but only a handful of what I assume were replacements by Summercourt Travel, nothing at all for Go-Ahead.

More vehicle news, a number of Scania single deckers from Go South Coast are expected, indeed one in 'More' livery had been spotted at Milehouse in the last day...
